Maintenance Technician DSHIFT: 1 ST SHIFT
Position Summary: This routine skilled work position covers several trades in maintenance, facilities, and construction. It represents a growth opportunity position within the Maintenance department based on successful completion of the standardized mechanical aptitude test and interview process. D-Level Maintenance Technicians perform various skilled tasks to inspect, repair, and maintain machinery, building, and equipment.
Primary Responsibilities of the Job:
Assist in the inspection, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment. Assist skilled maintenance workers in performing a wide variety of assignments including conduit installation, conveyor repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and other work. Move and carry heavy material such as pipe, lumber, gravel, sand, or furniture. Assist preventive maintenance programs related to infrastructure equipment and safety concerns. This includes roof leak detection and pressure washing of exterior structures. Perform routine mechanical HVAC tasks such as filter element changing, changing belts and coil cleaning. Repair interior and exterior building related issues including driving company vehicles to refuel and purchase supplies for maintenance and repair jobs. Perform minor plumbing such as drain cleanout, faucet repair and clog removal. Touch-up paint and assist with routine miscellaneous day to day activities related to buildings and grounds upkeep, repair, and maintenance including battery changing as needed. Complete tasks as part of the overall PM program; Lubricate, oil, paint, clean and repair necessary as machines, machine parts, or other equipment according to specified procedures. Assist in testing electrical, pneumatic, and HVAC controls. Be able to replace known individual components in these systems based on the complexity of the work. Develop and present training and communication sessions for the department related to new, modified, or equipment operations familiar to D-Tech issues in order to share best practices. Operate and troubleshoot label application equipment as required to maintain a documented record of label quality from either desktop, or process-line printing devices. Understand the computerized maintenance management system including accessing work assignments, printing work orders, and entering feedback from field findings. Perform other duties as assigned.

Decision Making:
1. Determine best methods, procedures for maintenance repairs.
2. Make troubleshooting/repair recommendations to maintenance supervisor
Resourcefulness/Creativity: Associate should be effective in solving non-recurring problems.
Environment:
1. Must be able to crawl, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., climb, and work at up to 50 ft. heights
2. Must be able to distinguish different wire colors
3. Must be able to stand most or all of shift in a wide range of temperatures
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Must have 3-5 years of mechanical or electrical experience in a distribution environment. Must have technical skills and be willing to attend conveyor specific training.
Education: Must score a minimum of 55 percentile on the Bennet’s Mechanical Aptitude test. Requires High School Diploma or GED. Technical school or technical training preferred.
Willingness to attend and complete conveyor and other training classes off site
Analytical skills including meters and gauges
Skills: Must possess troubleshooting skills, good communication, mechanical aptitude ability to operate various equipment, ability to use hand tools.
Salary Range: $20.36 - $22.36
