POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Front-End Architect will lead the design and implementation of modern, headless e-commerce storefronts using Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). This role centers on leveraging the Composable Storefront (PWA Kit) and Managed Runtime to deliver secure, scalable, ADA-compliant digital commerce experiences. The architect will define technical vision, guide development teams, and ensure execution of best-in-class front-end engineering practices.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
- Architectural leadership and technical direction
- Lead design and deployment of Composable Storefronts using PWA Kit and Managed Runtime
- Mentor developers and enforce best practices
- Define API integration strategies with SFCC and third-party services
- Optimize for performance, scalability, SEO, and accessibility
- Collaborate with product, business, and UX stakeholders
- Assess emerging technologies for roadmap enhancement
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
- Manage dependency hygiene, vulnerability audits, and semantic versioning
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:
· Internal: Works closely with business and technology teams, including engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
· External: Engages with technology vendors, consultants, and industry partners to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Direct: None
· Indirect: Provide leadership & guidance to outsourced vendor resources
BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain the environment to minimize budget overflows
DECISION MAKING:
· Leads decision-making on data product development and prioritization in collaboration with stakeholders.
· Recommends technology investments and improvements to enhance data product capabilities.
RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:
· Ensures technology solutions align with business needs, emphasizing usability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
· Requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex business and technical challenges.
ENVIRONMENT: This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively. Domestic and international travel may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
· 8+ years front-end development, 3+ in technical leadership
· Expert-level Salesforce Commerce Cloud (B2C) experience
· Deep experience with PWA Kit (Composable Storefront) and Managed Runtime
· Expertise in React, Node.js, and modern JavaScript
· Strong knowledge of web vulnerabilities and mitigation practices
· Expert dependency management (npm/Yarn)
· Strong API-first and event-driven integration experience
· DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud deployment experience
· Proven accessibility and performance engineering expertise
· Git experience and team mentoring experience
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree required, in any relevant STEM, or technology/engineering disciplines
Skills:
· SFCC Developer or Architect certifications
· Agile development experience
