Position Summary:
The Head of Legal PVH Asia Pacific serves as the chief regional legal partner for PVH in Asia Pacific, providing strategic, commercially attuned business partnership across all business lines and markets. The role leads a high-performing regional legal team; collaborates closely with the Legal Centers of Expertise (CoEs) including Employment, Compliance, Privacy and Brands; and drives the PVH+ Plan Next Chapter - including system enablement, process redesign, and operating model improvements that unlock scalability, transparency, and business speed. This role operates with dual reporting to the EVP, Deputy General Counsel and APAC regional leadership, ensuring regional legal operations are harmonized and enable APAC regional priorities and growth.
Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities Of The Job:
Strategic Legal Leadership
Provide comprehensive legal partnership on business initiatives, including contract negotiation, compliance, and risk management across APAC markets. Serve as a strategic business partner to cross-functional leaders (Finance, Real Estate, HR, Marketing, Digital, and Operations), resolving ad hoc issues and translating legal complexities into actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
Partner with business leaders to deliver commercially pragmatic advice on key negotiation points and strategic transactions (e.g., partnerships, licensing, wholesale, retail, e-commerce).
Oversee and liaise with external counsel to oversee litigation and regulatory matters as required, ensuring alignment with PVH’s objectives and brand reputation.
Stay current on legal developments and trends in retail & apparel across APAC, proactively translating insights into policy and risk controls.
People Leadership & Operating Model
Lead and manage a team of legal professionals inspiring a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
Strengthen legal-business partnership model; embed Legal as a competitive advantage for PVH and enabler of speed and consumer-centric growth driving PVH business strategy.
Provide regional oversight and alignment for the CoE for leaders who dually report into this role, ensuring integration with regional priorities and governance.
Legal Transformation & Digital Enablement
Drive legal transformation initiatives to streamline operations, reduce cost-to-serve, and scale capabilities, aligned to strategic objectives.
Steer the rollout of legal systems (e.g., gCLM and related tools) across APAC in support of PVH’s global digital transformation.
Align timelines and readiness with global/regional stakeholders; secure resources, manage change, and ensure adoption and ROI realization.
Position Legal as a catalyst for operational efficiency by driving automation, transparency, and consistency in contract management across markets.
Complex Negotiations & External Counsel Management
Take a proactive leadership role in managing external counsel for complex cross-border negotiations, ensuring alignment with program goals.
Establish outside counsel engagement models that optimize quality, speed, and cost, incorporating performance metrics and continuous improvement.
Commercial Enablement
Accelerate execution of high-impact commercial initiatives by partnering with business teams (e.g., Marketing on flagship launches), simplifying contracting and streamlining processes while maintaining risk standards.
Governance, Compliance & Risk
Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations across APAC and maintain corporate governance in line with global policies and applicable listing or regulatory requirements.
Oversee investigations and regulatory inquiries where needed; develop risk mitigation plans and escalation frameworks.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience :
15+ years of post-qualification experience in top-tier law firms and/or multinational in-house roles, with significant leadership responsibility across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
Proven track record advising on commercial, regulatory, employment, and corporate matters; experience with retail, consumer, or apparel sectors preferred.
Demonstrated success leading legal transformation, including contract lifecycle management (CLM), workflow automation, and process re-engineering.
Strong capability in managing complex negotiations and external counsel across borders.
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and change leadership skills; ability to simplify complexity and influence senior leaders.
Education:
LLB, or equivalent law degree; admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
Fluent English required; Mandarin and/or Cantonese strongly preferred; other Asian languages a plus.
