Senior Advisor - People Services

As a Senior Specialist / Senior Advisor – People Services, you will serve as a key point of contact and trusted advisor for associates and people leaders across the AMS region. You will deliver high-quality, second-level HR advisory support across the employee lifecycle—addressing complex queries, driving resolution, and ensuring compliance with internal frameworks and external employment law.

You will play a critical role in knowledge leadership, capability building, and continuous improvement—both within the AMS team and across the broader People Services function. Acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more key HR policy or process areas, you will contribute to cross-functional initiatives and act as a regional lead on selected people projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide elevated HR advisory services for complex and sensitive cases across the full employee lifecycle, ensuring a seamless, high-quality experience for associates and people managers in AMS.

  • Interpret and apply HR frameworks, local labor law, and company policies with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to people leaders, supporting on topics such as onboarding, offboarding, performance and conduct matters, absence management, compensation, well-being, and workforce planning.

  • Collaborate with HRBPs, Legal, and Centers of Expertise (CoEs) to guide organizational changes, restructures, and compliance initiatives.

  • Identify patterns and trends across cases and proactively share insights to influence policy evolution and operational improvements.

  • Support associate and manager capability through the delivery of live learning sessions, coaching moments, and regional onboarding.

  • Own and maintain up-to-date, user-friendly HR knowledge articles for the People Services Portal, driving self-service and reducing case volume.

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more core policy/process areas, contributing to team upskilling, content development, and process excellence.

  • Lead or support regional projects to improve service delivery, ensure compliance, and enhance the associate experience.

Measures of Success

Service Excellence

  • ≥90% of cases resolved within SLA with high-quality, contextualized guidance

  • ≥90% satisfaction score from associates and managers (post-case survey)

Knowledge & Capability Building

  • ≥95% of SME-owned content reviewed and updated annually

  • Delivers ≥4 team knowledge-sharing or manager learning sessions per year

  • Drives measurable improvement in portal usage and reduction in repeat cases

Strategic Contribution & Advisory Impact

  • Recognized as regional go-to for designated policy/process expertise

  • Positive feedback from HRBPs and stakeholders on advisory guidance and project contributions

The Ideal Candidate

  • 3–5 years’ experience in HR Advisory, HR Business Partnering, or People Operations in a regional/international environment

  • Strong understanding of Dutch employment law and HR frameworks; additional knowledge of broader EMEA markets is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex HR matters with discretion, empathy, and professionalism

  • Experienced working with HR systems such as Workday and ServiceNow

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to translate policy into practical guidance

  • Fluent in English; Dutch or other EMEA languages preferred

  • Proactive and confident in navigating ambiguity, building relationships, and influencing outcomes

  • Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for great service delivery
