Inclusion & Diversity
Our I&D vision is to cultivate a culture of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity for all: to build a better workplace, drive innovation in the marketplace and create a positive impact on society. We champion diversity across our business – from top to bottom – , within our brands, - from in front to behind the camera- . We welcome all and want to create opportunities for groups who have historically been marginalized in both our industry and our society.
Our mission is to create a culture where everyone has an Inclusive lens. Where diversity is the norm and where every associate feels safe and appreciated for who they are and the value they bring to our organization. We do this by making everyone in the business part of the journey.
In 2018, the I&D function in Europe was founded and our I&D work in Europe started with grass roots initiatives that celebrated our Inclusive Culture. Since then we rolled out unconscious bias trainings for all our 11000 associates to help them identify and lift the veil on our subconscious attitudes towards others. We have bi-monthly Inclusion & Diversity speaker events to give associates access to internal leaders and external speakers discussing integral I&D topics including intersectionality, racial injustice, gender parity and more. These events support our efforts to become a better educated and unbiased organization.
And we formalized Business Resource Groups (BRG), providing a safe space and give voices for the BIPOC, LGBTQIA+ and female communities. Our BRGs currently have more than 500+ activate associate members across Europe.
We’re also committed to having our consumers and partners join us on our journey to create a more inclusive future of fashion. Launched in 2018, the Tommy Hilfiger Fashion Frontier Challenge is an annual program to discover and accelerate the work of the world’s most innovative and impactful fashion startups. Through mentoring and financial support, we want to help the best ideas break through.
And there are many other initiatives and programs across our business and brands that bring our I&D commitment to life. Check out our Corporate Website to find out more.
There is a long road ahead of us to create a truly equal society, but it all starts here – and with these steps taken, we are at last on the path to achieve this.
