The Team
Within the People Experience and Services team, our mission is to deliver a seamless associate experience across EMEA, ensuring alignment with the company’s broader goals of operational excellence and service quality.
The Position
We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive Labor Relations Specialist to join our EMEA Labor Relations team in Amsterdam. This role will be key in supporting our daily operations related to social dialogue and collaboration with our Works Councils (especially in the Netherlands), ensuring we stay compliant while elevating our practices and fostering a culture of transparency and trust.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with 2–5 years of experience in HR or labor/employment law who is passionate about employee relations, thrives in a fast-paced, changing environment, and wants to make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain a clear and up-to-date overview of current topics, projects, and deadlines related to our Works Councils (HQ and EMEA level) and Labor Relations topics
Monitor relevant labor law changes and developments in employee and labor relations to ensure compliance and proactively advise the manager and leadership on implications
Partner closely with the Labor Relations Manager to prioritize key initiatives and ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders
Build and maintain the business calendar for the Labor Relations team, including milestones, current and future topics to be addressed
Act as a key point of contact for both internal stakeholders and Works Council representatives for complex queries
Own the documentation of all social agreements/negotiations and develop a structured knowledge database for easy reference and compliance
Prepare documentation, briefings, presentations and talking points for consultation processes under the Dutch Works Council Act (e.g., requests for advice, consent, or information) or any other relevant topic under the umbrella of the labor relations team
Coordinate and facilitate Works Council consultations, as well as internal training or workshops on labor relations and Works Council collaboration for local HR and management teams
Provide subject matter expertise in re-structures, settlement agreements and the redundancy process coaching the Associate Lifecycle team and supporting the execution of re-organizations
Ensures Employee Contracts and Letter templates are compliant and aligned with local legislation and company policy requirements
Cultivate strong, trusted relationships across the business; particularly with HR, Legal, and senior leadership
Contribute to HR initiatives that elevate the voice of the associates and our business and drive positive workplace culture
Note: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed above. The role may require additional tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
Requirements
Experience: 2–5 years of relevant work experience in HR, employment law, or labor relations; experience with Works Councils or social dialogue is a strong advantage
Labor Law Knowledge Good working knowledge of EMEA labor regulations and internal HR policies.
Analytical Thinking: Ability to evaluate data and situations to determine appropriate actions within existing guidelines and policies.
Language: Fluency in English required; Dutch language is a plus but not mandatory
Education: Bachelor’s degree would be beneficial (Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations, Law, Business or related)
Excellent organizational skills: ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver in a fast-paced environment
Strong collaboration and communication skills: diplomatic, respectful, confident in dealing with senior stakeholders
Proactive mindset: Curious, motivated, collaborative; someone who genuinely wants to contribute and grow within the field of labor relations
High integrity and ability to remain neutral, objective, and trustworthy, and to maintain high standards of confidentiality
Technically proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to create meaningful content and powerful storytelling for diverse presentation
