The Team
Within the EMEA Communications department, our mission is to deliver clear, engaging, and aligned communications that connect people to PVH's vision, values, and priorities, ensuring alignment with the company's overarching goals of building Calvin Klein and TOMMY HILFIGER into the most desirable lifestyle brands in the world. This team serves as the backbone of our department, collaborating closely with local markets, global communications, HR, and brand teams to drive a cohesive and integrated approach across the region. By eliminating regional silos and aligning local efforts with EMEA and global priorities, we enhance Associate experiences, foster a sense of community, and strengthen the company's internal and external presence. With an integral position in the team, the role contributes significantly to streamlining content creation, event planning, and messaging, ensuring a balance between regionally consistent narratives and locally relevant engagement.
The Position
As Senior Director Communications – PVH EMEA, you will lead the development and execution of strategic communication plans across the region, ensuring alignment with executive leadership priorities and global direction. You will support senior leaders, including the CEO, with strategic comms planning and oversee key initiatives that strengthen internal and external engagement. A key focus will be ensuring consistent and aligned messaging across EMEA markets, covering both corporate and internal communications, and aligned to the larger global PVH communications and company strategy. Your leadership will be central to driving clarity, connection, and cohesion across the region—enhancing the company’s brand, culture, and strategic goals. Reporting into PVH’s Chief Communications Officer and PVH EMEA CEO while partnering closely with the EVP of HR and other regional leaders, the Sr. Director of Communications is a key member of PVH’s Global Communications Team who will play an important role in shaping how PVH’s story comes to life around the world, internally and externally, with a focus on the EMEA region.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Communications Planning: Develop and lead the EMEA-wide strategic communication plans for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business priorities and executive leadership direction.
Executive Support: Strategic Business Partner of senior leadership, including the CEO, to develop and execute high-impact communication strategies. Share views and recommendations with senior leadership to guide challenging communications decisions.
Content & Channel Management: Create and drive the EMEA content strategy, narratives and messaging to support business goals and drive thought leadership. Manage consistent, high-quality content across internal and external channels; ensuring streamlined, effective messaging across the region that aligns to the larger corporate narrative and strategy.
Internal Communications: Own the annual internal communications calendar, ensuring timely, engaging campaigns and events that are aligned to leadership messaging. Coordinate regional associate communications and brand-specific activation and reporting to ensure an aligned approach in messaging.
Corporate Communications: Oversee external communications including press release development, media inquiries, and reputation management in collaboration with global partners and Brand teams.
Crisis & Change Communication: Act as the escalation point for markets, leading crisis comms and change management with agility and clarity to protect brand reputation. Partner closely with global team to manage high stakes, reputation-driving situations/issues and top-tier global media.
Data & Insights: Track and analyze comms performance metrics (e.g., sentiment, reach, engagement) to inform strategy and improve impact. Distill complex data and insights into easy-to-digest, executive-ready materials for regular reporting.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage the EMEA Communications team in delivering impactful, aligned, and localized communication initiatives across the brands and EMEA markets. Advance their professional development and align their capabilities with strategic priorities.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships across EMEA markets, brands, and global functions to ensure consistent narratives and collaborative execution.
Note: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed above. The role may require additional tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
Measures of Success
Engagement & Reach: Monitor and grow engagement levels across internal and external communication channels. Target: Consistently achieve or exceed reach benchmarks for key campaigns and communications.
Feedback & Sentiment: Measure employee sentiment and feedback in response to communication initiatives.
Leadership Visibility: Assess frequency and impact of executive communication touchpoints (e.g., CEO comms, Townhalls). Target: Ensure regular cadence and strong internal visibility of leadership through strategic communications.
Response Time (Crisis/Issues): Evaluate timeliness and effectiveness of communications in high-pressure situations. Target: Meet defined internal SLAs for crisis response and issue management with high satisfaction rates.
The Ideal Candidate:
12+ years of related work experience, including proven leadership experience in team management roles. A strong background in crisis management is essential.
Strong business acumen (experience in retail, apparel and/or consumer industries a plus) with proven ability to connect business goals and objectives with communications strategies for maximum impact.
Data-driven mindset, with a deep understanding of earned media, social media and media measurement.
Extensive experience with content creation in internal and external communications, with exceptional capability in developing compelling communication, key messages, and corporate narratives.
Successful at relationship building and collaborating across a highly matrixed global environment.
Strong ability to manage senior stakeholders, including articulating and representing their voice, and guide their prompt communications in times of challenge.
Willingness to work across different time zones to ensure strong alignment and seamless execution.
Native-level proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in communications or related fields.
