The head office for the DACH and EEC markets, covering 13 countries with more than 2.700 employees, is located in Düsseldorf and is the main location of around 500 employees. 
 

We are seeking a Senior Legal Manager for our Düsseldorf office to lead and coordinate legal support for Region West (DACH and Central & Eastern Europe). The role manages the local legal team and works closely with the EMEA Legal organization, particularly with the Amsterdam office.

Reporting to the Senior Legal Director Markets & Commercial (Amsterdam), with a dotted line to the VP Finance, this role acts as a strategic legal partner to senior stakeholders across Finance, Retail, Marketing, Sales, and regional leadership. The Senior Legal Manager provides business-oriented legal guidance with a strong focus on commercial contracting, marketing, retail, and business development, while fostering a high-performing, collaborative team and supporting sustainable business growth across the region.


 
A day in the life of a Senior Legal Counsel (m/f/x): 

  • Provide strategic, business-oriented legal advice to senior management and business stakeholders, with a focus on commercial, distribution, marketing, and consumer-related matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including franchise, distribution, concession, and partnership contracts
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of consumer law, marketing, competition, and antitrust
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks, including the management of disputes, litigation, and coordination with external counsel
  • Collaborate closely with regional and international legal teams and cross-functional stakeholders across the EMEA organization
  • Lead, mentor, and develop junior legal team members while contributing to the continuous improvement of legal processes and policies

What do we need from you? You have: 

  • Legal Expertise: Advanced knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–10 years post-qualification experience, preferably in both law firm and in house roles (in the fashion industry is a plus).
  • Commercial Contract Negotiation: Proficient in drafting and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Experience: Demonstrated success in managing and negotiating commercial contracts with key customers B2B.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to align legal strategies with business goals and anticipate legal risks.
  • Importance: Crucial for proactive legal risk management.
  • Leadership & Communication: Strong interpersonal, listening, and team leadership skills. Proven ability to inspire, develop, and lead diverse teams.
  • Collaboration: A natural collaborator who thrives in cross-functional environments and builds strong relationships across all levels.
  • Industry Experience: Previous experience in retail and distribution of consumer goods is a plus - in fashion or a closely related industry.
  • Education: Law degree (LLM or equivalent)
  • Full professional proficiency in English and German
