POSITION SUMMARY:
As an Temporary Assistant Designer for Cut & Sew Knits and Graphics, you will play a key role in supporting both the C&S Knits and Graphics design teams in the creation of seasonal collections. This hybrid position serves as a vital liaison between graphic and apparel teams, helping to align creative vision, technical execution, and brand identity. Your responsibilities will include assisting in the design process, conducting trend and market research, and facilitating cross-functional communication. You will gain valuable experience working across design categories and contribute directly to the continued success of the C&S Knits business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design Development
• Collaborate with both apparel and graphic design teams to create sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings for C&S Knits and Graphics collections.
• Ensure design cohesion between garment silhouettes and graphic applications. Tech Pack Creation
• Assist in building comprehensive tech packs, BOMs, and design specifications for C&S Knits and Graphic prototypes, SMS, and production stages.
• Maintain accuracy and consistency across all product details. Sample Review and Fit Sessions
• Participate in fit sessions and sample reviews; take detailed notes and update construction sketches to reflect revisions.
• Ensure alignment between original design intention and final product execution. Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Serve as a key point of contact between design, technical, sourcing, and merchandising teams.
• Communicate design intent clearly and ensure seamless handoffs between departments. Brand Alignment
• Uphold the brand’s design language and aesthetic across all Cut & Sew Knits and Graphic products.
• Partner with marketing and brand teams to ensure storytelling and branding consistency across collections.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Experience:
• Minimum 1 year of relevant apparel or graphic design experience.
Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills:
• Understanding of garment construction and graphic design techniques.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Experience with PLM systems (Centric preferred) for managing tech packs and BOMs.
• Strong hand and digital sketching ability.
• Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills.
• Eye for color, fabric, trend, and silhouette.
• Ability to maintain design archives, manage sample inventory, and support line sheet creation.
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS
Internal: Collaborate closely with Designers, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams throughout the design and development process. Participate in weekly design meetings and fittings. Support approvals and updates with timely communication.
External: Engage with vendors, trim suppliers, and overseas partners for sourcing, trend research, and product development.

• Daily decision-making regarding colorways, fabric/trims, graphic applications, and fit direction.
• Ensure design decisions support brand strategy and product performance.

• Strong creative thinking balanced with technical understanding and business needs.
