Summer 2025 Internship Details: 

  • Program dates: June 2 to August 8 

  • 10-week program with 35-hour work week 

  • Hybrid, onsite work schedule: Tues, Wed & Thurs in office  

  • Internship location in NYC 

  • Compensation: $22/hr + a $2500 stipend 

  • Applicants must be able to commit to full-time hours and the entire length of the program. 

  • Applicants must be undergraduates and/or those actively enrolled in a specialized/technical certification program 

 

What to Expect and important dates to keep in mind: 

  • Applications close: February 28, 2025  

  • Required: Initial screening conducted by our recruiting team virtually 

  • Final interviews conducted by our hiring teams virtually beginning late February into early March 

  • Internship offers will be extended by the recruitment team at the end of March into early April 

  • If you are applying for a design or creative internship (fashion design/technical design/graphic design), please be sure to provide samples of work (online portfolio, illustrations, flat sketches, and/or 3D renderings) 

 

Job Title: Intern, Finance/Accounting - Internal Audit 

 

Job Summary  

Information Systems (IS) Audit is responsible for understanding information technology controls and determining whether the design and execution of those controls adequately mitigate the risk (i.e., unauthorized access, segregation of duties, unauthorized system changes, system configuration, policies, and procedures, etc.). Financial Audit is responsible for assisting management with the evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting, conducting financial, operational, contractual and compliance audits. Interns may receive exposure to legal contracts, different business operations, audit procedures, and data analytics. The position is good for someone looking for exposure to different segments of the business. 

 

Your primary responsibilities will include:   

IS Audit: 

  • Assist in performing tests of security and internal controls over systems to ensure data integrity and the safeguarding of assets

  • Assist in documenting test results to evidence work performed and support any deficiencies noted

  • Update test plans and associated deliverable lists for Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance testing using Internal Audit’s Audit Board application

Financial Audit: 

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing data to detect deficient controls, duplicated effort, extravagance, fraud, or noncompliance/compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies

  • Assist in performing audit procedures through inspection, inquiry, observation, and analysis using sound work paper techniques

  • Document processes, procedures, and test results

  • Examine records and participate in interviewing workers to ensure the recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations

  • Assist in examining and evaluating financial and information systems and recommend controls to ensure system reliability and data integrity

  • Assist in reviewing data relevant to material assets, net worth, liabilities, capital stock, surplus, income, and expenditures

  • Assist in identifying issues and participating in meetings with the client for confirmation and remediation

  • Develop and maintain productive client and staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings

  • Perform other related duties as required

  

Education  

  • Rising junior or senior undergraduate student with a declared major in Accounting, Finance, Business, Audit, Information Security, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or other related fields  

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA in major core classes preferred  

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. 

  

Experience / Skills  

  • Previous relevant internship/work experience or proven curiosity about the industry 

  • Proven academic leadership or extra-curricular activity preferred

  • Ability to be resourceful, flexible, and adaptable to situations

  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Word or willingness to learn

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Willingness to interact at all levels of staff and management
