The Department & Team 

The Technical Development team develops and delivers both innovative and sustainable products for Tommy Hilfiger. Responsible for the end to end technical development of the product, from initial concept through to physical garments, pioneering high quality & product excellence, as well as delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.  

Closely partnering with several stakeholders, from PD (Product Development), design & merchandising, through to global teams this role plays an intricate part in delivering the Tommy Hilfiger brand DNA.  

 

The Position: Junior Technical Developer
Developing foundational skills in the technical development of apparel. Assisting in the maintenance and update of block libraries in collaboration with senior team members, and supporting the creation of new seasonal silhouettes across the global supply base

 

Supports the technical development process from concept to final product. Assists in preparing samples, updating specs, and maintaining data accuracy in PLM. Gains experience in fit, construction, and quality standards under the guidance of senior team members.

 

Collaborate closely with design, Merchandise, and product development to interpret sketches, create collections, understand market needs and achieve shared deadlines. Admin support to team.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the technical development process from concept to production.

  • Participate in fit sessions, record comments, and assist with communicating updates.

  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of technical data in PLM.

  • Support the team in following the critical path to ensure on-time delivery.

  • Build foundational technical skills through hands-on learning in fittings, specs, and vendor communication.

  • Collaborate with sourcing, quality, and overseas teams to resolve day-to-day technical issues.

  • Assist with sample organization, meeting preparation, and reporting as needed. 

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 1–2 years of experience or internship in apparel product development or garment technology.

  • Degree in fashion, garment technology, pattern cutting, or related field.

  • Basic understanding of garment construction, fit, and pattern development.

  • Familiarity with PLM and related software (e.g. Gerber or equivalent) is a plus.

  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused mindset.

  • Able to follow established procedures and seek guidance when needed.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable in maintaining data accuracy.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

  • Demonstrates PVH values: individuality, passion, accountability, partnership, and integrity.

  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
