POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the development, management and communication of strategic merchandise plans to achieve regional brand objectives and financial targets. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop merchandise financial plans, optimize product mixes and depth, and create data-driven solutions that enhance profitability, inventory efficiency, and consumer experience. The Merchandise Planning Manager will lead the seasonal OTB planning process which requires analysis of current business trends, market data, historical data, as well as integrating forward-looking Merchandise strategies. OTBs should integrate the financial KPIs: sell through, discount, inventory turn assumption, for the regional merchandising team to prepare seasonal buy and improve assortment productivity. Implement & manage an integrated and successful regional Buy management process that effectively supports brand profitability and business objectives. Partner with market counterparts at key stages of the planning process. Monitor in-season sales and forward-planning and recommend actions for course corrections and improvements to ensure year end sales targets are achieved. Support the Merchandise team on key style volume projections, pricing, store grading, and other seasonal analysis as well as ad-hoc brand projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Pre-season planning and analysis
Lead the partnership between regional and country merchandising, planning and finance team to develop the OTB according to buying strategy, financial target and historical analysis
Conduct Seasonal OTB meetings with regional and country teams
Follow up with country team to ensure the on-time execution
Drive cross-functional initiatives to implement & improve processes, align calendars, and other solutions to the business
Provide analysis to support pricing reviews and store grading recommendations
Support assortment productivity through analysis of key volume styles and suggested inventory positions across markets
Support Seasonal Buy Signoff process pre & post market week
Reconcile actual vs OTB plan and make suggestions where needed
In-season planning and analysis
Provide ongoing product and category performance and quantitative analysis
Maintain and monitor of inventory plan and sales plan
Partner with regional Merchandising team on in-season planning and analysis
Partner with brands and cross-functional teams in identifying risks and capitalizing on business opportunities
Support and coordinate the same analysis with country planning team to achieve the Asia Pacific level target
Lead and drive the regional sales meetings with regional business partners
Present and regularly interact with senior leaders
Understand the current market trend and business needs
Follow up on the latest issues and requirements
Leverage the best practices between countries and coordinate the needs between markets and regional

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years’ merchandising, supply and inventory planning managerial experience in MNCs, preferably in the Retail industry
Education:
Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced education in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Deep understanding of merchandise planning and inventory management needs
Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and self-motivation
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Self-starter and a natural collaborator who thrives in a team environment
Knowledge of SAP systems - Demand & Supply Planning, Inventory management, Sales & Distribution & Purchasing
Computer skills with databases and spreadsheet programs
Proven written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably with other Asian languages/ Mandarin Chinese
Negotiating skills and ability to resolve conflict and multiple priorities
Possess and utilize team concept, presentation skills, resolution skills and the ability to encourage others to develop and implement adequate solutions to business issues, be a great communicator.
