This role will start with 1-year contract with full benefits.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • (S)he will support on documenting and liaising in all APAC Risk Governance issues across the markets and at region, including crisis management, social media and external enquiry scenarios and more.

  • (S)he will support the running of the APAC Risk Governance Committee on a quarterly basis, and the launch of the Enterprise Risk Management Process for APAC, in alignment with global counterparts. This includes being responsible for documenting and updated key protocols such as the crisis communication and risk escalation protocols.

  • This role also encompasses responsibility for facilitating training programs and best practice guidelines for selected groups including retail associates, leadership and the department heads.  

  • This role covers both brands and all local APAC markets. The manager will also occasionally be supporting supervisor in aligning with global counterparts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support leaders in bringing our risk governance regional initiatives to execution

  • Play an active role in facilitating coordination of risk management for the region

  • Document our risk scenarios and make summaries for future recommendations

  • Lead the quarterly update of our risk and crisis management protocols

  • Managing regional response templates for risk management

  • Conduct interviews and draft reports for the Enterprise Risk Management process across APAC markets and connect with global risk manager to ensure two-way dialogue on priority risk issues

  • Draft content for regional risk trainings and tabletop exercises with consultation from business managers, legal, HR and compliance

  • Assist supervisor in managing external risk advisors as required

  • Assist supervisor in follow up on crisis management issues including corporate affairs, social media issues, code of conduct, brand and product, in collaboration with business managers, legal, compliance and operations teams

  • Collaborate with Corp Risk and global communications to continuously improve our global risk, crisis management and business continuity programs

  • Be committed and constructive to the Regional Risk Management Committee and supporting the businesses in the region to navigate through crisis.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving. Escalation and ability to provide recommendations and guide teams to make decisions in a timely manner. Strong influencing and project management skills.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY

  • This role requires a candidate who is proactive and takes a high degree of initiative as it requires communication and management across multiple stakeholders across the business to make timely and effective decisions.

  • The ability to work well within ambiguity, pressure of multiple deadlines and with a matrix organization across regions is critical.

LONGER TERM

  • Interest to develop in the risk, legal and compliance space.

ENVIRONMENT

  • Fast paced environment, matrix organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or advanced degree

  • Must have demonstrated prior experience in the risk governance, corporate and legal affairs space. 5 years’ experience or more in an MNC matrix organization with successful track record in advising on risk issues. Preferably someone with a consumer industry and legal background.  

Skills:

  • Legal and advisory skills

  • Retail training experience valuable

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability work across a diverse range of teams and departments, understand and account for different perspectives, and respond appropriately to varied audiences

  • Proactive approach, exceptional work ethic

  • Ability to work well under pressure, anticipate needs and challenges, and respond to changing demands

  • Ability to think and react quickly, produce deliverables on tight turnarounds
