The Position
The Manager Regional Merchandizing is responsible for the formulation and execution of the Merchandizing Strategy of the product category in EMEA. In this capacity the Manager leads a small team of Merchandizers of different levels. On the highest level, the role of the Manager is to ensure the product assortment for this product category that is created by the global product creation teams in NYC and that is made available to the commercial channels and markets to sell in Europe, is optimal to maximize growth and profitability of the product category business in EMEA in the short, mid- and longer term, whilst being in line with the brand DNA and supporting the brand vision.
The Key Responsibilities
Manage the gathering, organizing, analysing, and consolidating of information on product needs and opportunities from the commercial markets and channels, including product sell in and sell out data, market and consumer trends and insights, and direct feedback from a wide array of stakeholders such as wholesale account managers, wholesale accounts and retail store managers.
Drive, together with the Director, the briefing of global product creation teams on the EMEA regional product needs at all key milestones along the creation process, but also informally in between, in order to assure the optimal product assortment to meet EMEA product needs.
Collaborate with Marketing, VM and the Global merchandising team on bringing to life the key product messages.
Partner, together with the Director, with planning functions (Merchandizing Planning, Supply Planning, Finance) to ensure maximal accuracy in forecasting product volumes for all different purposes.
Drive the creation, and making available of, sales tools to the markets and channels that allow sales and profit maximization in short-, mid- and long-term sales, including managing train the trainer sessions for new collections, and partnering with Marketing and Visual Merchandizing.
Manage the day-to-day work for the small team, ensure personal and professional development of the team members and safeguard a productive, safe and nurturing team environment.
The Manager is responsible for the translation of any category strategies in the marketplace across wholesale & DTC; this includes ongoing trainings for the country and sales teams on-floor.
Own the preparation and present at key-account meetings.
The Ideal Candidate
Minimal 6 years’ experience in Merchandizing Proven analytical, planning and organization skills Strong communication and presentation skills Excellent negotiating, influencing and networking skills
Business and commercial acumen
Able to work in a fast paced, matrix based, challenging environment
Fluent English both written and verbal
Ability to travel abroad
Please note that this is a temporary role covering maternity leave for 8 months.
