The Team
Tommy Hilfiger Close to Body is creating all underwear, loungewear and swimwear products of the brand. The department is responsible for a global line, with a focus on strategic product creation. This position will be responsible for product creation of the women's underwear and swimwear ranges.
The department consists of the following teams:
Merchandising – Responsible for the creation, planning and implementation of a successful product strategy which meets the territory-specific product requirements and delivers on sales, productivity, brand relevance and margin targets
Design – responsible for the creation of the concept, color direction, product and qualities of the fabrications to drive the business growth
Product Development– drives the development process of product made for the European market. Working closely with Merchandising, factories and planning teams in order to deliver high-quality, profitable collections on-time to market
The Position
The position reports directly into the Senior Merchandising Manager and is responsible for managing product creation for all full price channels, working closely with design and product development.
It will require to collaborate with various teams, ensure all deadlines are met and to think forward, to understand the needs of the category and map out a short, mid and long term strategy for the business.
A strong knowledge of the processes, and product requirements for each global market and making sure that these requirements translate into product is key. Since this position is a crucial connecting function between the different departments in the development and merchandising process, the candidate must possess very strong organizational and analytical skills. He, she or they will also have great communication skills, not only in order to support the delivery of an accurate, complete and on-target collection that will drive sales, but also to ensure synergies between all divisions are being maximized.
Reports into the Sr Merchandising Manager
Support the Sr Merchandising Manager in elaborating mid and long term business strategies for the category
Overseeing the End-to-End product creation process for the Women’s Swimwear and kids underwear and sleep lines
Lead Range Planning to ensure all divisional KPIs and targets are met
Partcipate in key seasonal Milestone Meetings and lead where needed
Drive cross-departmental execution between Design, Merchandising, Product Development and Marketing
Analyze historical retail sales & data to best service each regions needs
Hindsight opportunities for growth
Work closely with the Market Merchandising team to ensure all supporting tools for successful launches are ready, as well as compelling story-telling elements
The ideal candidate
Experience within the women's category, preferred swim and or underwear product.
BA Degree or better in a Business Administration / Fashion Merchandising or a related field;
Minimum 4 years work experience, preferable within a retail or wholesale fashion company.
Excellent organizational, communication and negotiating skills necessary
High level of accuracy
Excellent English communication written and verbal
Strong analytical / numeric skills
Excellent computer skills including Excel and Power Point
Comfortable with presenting to large audiences
High flexibility, able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Fast learner, willing to innovate and think outside of the box
Strategic mindset, always supported by data
Brand ambassador / passionate about the product
Team player, Global mindset, strong interest in fashion and market trends
Living in the surroundings of Amsterdam or willing to relocate to the Netherlands
