POSITION SUMMARY:

All brand strategy, product development, and innovation are led and driven by certain PVH affiliates in the US with respect to products under Calvin Klein, and Tommy Hilfiger sold in NA, Asia, and SA; and in the Netherlands with respect to products bearing the Tommy Hilfiger Europe, Calvin Klein Europe with respect and sold in the Asia region.  The position in this job description helps PVH-related parties meet their operating and strategic needs.

  • Support the PD Manager in all tasks related to fabric research and product development based on seasonal briefings, for special projects and general research.
  • Responsible for sample and order execution for the brand and collaborating with different teams.
  • Assist the manager with day-to-day execution and operations in line with the brand’s strategy to achieve KPIs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Collect seasonal trend briefings from design teams and initiate research based on those briefings
  • Co-ordinate with factories on development sample production
  • Communicate product and design information to designers, merchandisers, and factories
  • Track development sample/mock-up status with the factories and ensure deadlines are met
  • Work with factories and laundries on-site for development
  • Send samples to designers for review and approval
  • Attend design meetings to identify modification requirements
  • Provide advice to the esign team on modifications of existing design to meet price and design requirements
  • Support designers and PD Manager in the sourcing of material
  • Routinely collect information on and review mills’ latest collection and developments
  • Identify and analyze trends suitable for the brand and product trends of the brand’s competitors
  • Research on new design concepts from tradeshows, the Internet and magazines, fashion practitioners, etc
  • Collect market information and samples for design reference and future product development
  • Attend fabric trade shows, and share trend information via different channels
  • Maintain an updated sample, hanger, and trends libraries
  • Provide technical advice to production merchandisers on design-related production issues
  • Support PD Manager and Senior Wash Manager for new wash developments

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred with 3-5 years of experience in product development in the apparel industry
  • Proven tracking and production experience

Skills:

  • Proven experience working in apparel factories in production.
  • Sound knowledge in garment construction, cutting, sewing, and finishing.
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • High integrity and business ethics.
  • Team Player
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in MS Office with proven knowledge of MS Excel.
  • Good communication skills and fluent spoken and written English. Fluency in the local language is advantageous.
