The Team
The Runway & Collaborations business unit is a dynamic division dedicated to creating exciting collaborations, sponsorships and partnerships with external partners ranging such as sports teams, fashion brands and celebrity ambassadors. This business unit also creates elevated tier one collections and runway shows that represent the pinnacle expression of the brand’s identity. Based in the Amsterdam European HQ, the division is split into sub teams: Design, Sourcing & Development and Merchandising & Sales. These teams work together to create brand moments that build brand awareness, credibility and drive desire for the entire TH brand.
The Position
The Senior Designer for LAB - Collaborations & Sponsorships, is responsible for designing and executing styles across multiple product categories and projects. The primary focus lies on long term sports sponsorships and collaborations with external partners, brands and ABO’s.
The Senior Designer has a deep understanding of multi product and works closely with the Design Director and design team to create commercially viable products that embody the Tommy Hilfiger brand identity across all collaborative projects.
The ideal candidate demonstrates exceptional taste, drive and confidence, complemented by a contemporary hand writing and an ability to simultaneously design across diverse projects and categories.
A thorough knowledge of the premium and luxury market segments is essential, along with a strong awareness of sponsorships and collaborations within fashion brands. An intuitive ability to integrate relevant trends, silhouettes and fabrications into the collections whilst ensuring the Tommy Hilfiger DNA is consistently reflected is essential.
The Senior Designer will partner with other members of the Design team as well as Product Development, Fit and Merchandising, to create strong cohesive collections and capsules aligning across product groups with clear story telling reflecting season concept ideas.
Key Responsibilities:
Source and present creative research as well as identifying trends that work within the Tommy Hilfiger brand strategy, translating these into products in line with the seasonal concept direction and partnerships strategy.
Design across multiple product categories with confidence and a luxury handwriting as well as an understanding of the brand DNA.
Use Illustrator or hand sketching to confidently communicate design ideas and create detailed CAD sketches, overviews and colour ups.
Prepare all sketches (2D & 3D) for divisional digital presentations and follow up of each style. Create garment worksheets and prepare PLM to send to factories.
Work closely with Tech and Product Development teams on garment fittings, based on block systems and new seasonal complex styles. Ensure all styles are to the highest possible standard and help find solutions to any problems that may come up during the fitting process
Close working and communication on challenges and changes that arise during the development of styles. Supports and partners with the Product Developer to execute each style to ensure a smooth work flow each season.
Attend and participate at key milestones such as sketch and proto review and style outs.
Partnering with sourcing teams about sourcing qualities, washes, trims and details.
Responsible to follow up on selected sourcing and fabrics each season with the Product Developer and Fabric Manager.
Work closely with the Design Team to align design aesthetics, seasonal details and creative big ideas
Work to multiple overlapping calendar deadlines.
The Ideal Candidate:
Fashion Design graduated at a degree level or equivalent
5-6 years of fashion design work experience ideally within the mid to luxury market segment.
Work experience from brand collaborations, sponsorships and special projects is a plus.
A Multi Product Designer with experience across product categories and genders.
Excellent computer skills (Illustrator/Photoshop) & hand-drawing skills
Ability to translate trends into commercial collections with a contemporary handwriting.
High level fabric knowledge across categories, plus a strong technical understanding of fits and constructions.
Strong understanding of sourcing qualities, washes, trims and details that fit in the Tommy Hilfiger aesthetic.
Thrives in a fast paced ever changing environment with a hands-on mentality.
Proactive approach to the work place, able to support and adapt to the needs of the team.
Highly organized and can work on multiple seasons and projects simultaneously.
Available to travel for supplier visits
A dedicated driven team player with great communication skills.
Business English fluency (both written and verbal)
