The Position
Based in Amsterdam, the Technical Developer will participate in the end to end development process for the Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear Flat Knits by developing product from concept through to bulk delivery, whilst creating high quality and beautifully fitting garments.
Throughout the development process the Technical Developer is responsible for ensuring comments and specs are clear, supporting the Vendor / Buying Office when necessary. Must be well organized, able to work to tight deadlines and be a clear communicator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must be accurate, skilled and experienced around the technical development of Flat Knits.
  • Must have a solid knowledge of Knit Structure & Gauges, Yarns & Quality, Stitches & Construction - all specific to Flat Knit product creation.
  • Control and maintain a consistent block library and driving any seasonal block refresh amendments across the supply base.
  • Responsible for creating and controlling sample specs from initial concept sketch to bulk production.
  • Communicate and work closely with Designer and Product Developer to interpret sketches & styling, collection overviews and achieve shared deadlines and margins.
  • Work closely with Merchandising to understand the market needs and how best to interpret and implement these requests within the product outcome.
  • Liaising with European and Asian vendors and PVH overseas buying offices.
  • Sample tracking and in-house sample management.
  • Handling of daily issues in end-to-end technical development process; including spec development, fitting, vendor support & maintaining quality standards.
  • Adhere to critical path, both internally and externally to support the development and production of the collection achieving on time for delivery at all stages of the process.
  • Cross functional partnership to ensure correct product is delivered in accordance with design, merchandising, technical and quality requirements.
  • Drive fit meetings including capturing comments, changes & communicating these internally and externally.
  • Work closely with Product Managers & internal teams to capture, troubleshoot & resolve any product related risks during the development process.
  • Work within our PLM system to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintain tracking spreadsheets & departmental spreadsheets



The Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience in product development, and ideally experience in the technical development of Flat Knit product.
  • Higher education certificate in fashion technology/garment technology/pattern cutting.
  • Business English fluency (both written and verbal)
  • An understanding of pattern making
  • Excellent Microsoft Office computer skills
  • Eye for silhouette & Flat Knit technical fit and construction.
  • Capable of working in a highly productive, demanding environment with a practical and pro-active mentality.
  • Embodies PVH values of individuality, passion, accountability, partnership & integrity.
  • Must have strong organization and communication skills.
  • Flexible in travel, approx. 2 times per year to Far East and/or Europe once the situation allows
