POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Buyer for Boy’s Merchandising is a strategic partner that supports the Boy’s division for Tommy Hilfiger. The Buyer is highly analytical, a seasoned presenter, and focused on driving profitability. This role will involve partnering with management to develop and implement strategic assortments and create successful product lines for both Outlet and E-Commerce channels. The Buyer will be responsible for ensuring the financial goals are met across all retail channels. The Buyer will serve as a key leader for Boy’s, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Planning, Sourcing, Design, Visual, Site Merchandising, Allocation, and Field teams, to implement and optimize the division's product strategy.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Working knowledge of financial metrics to analyze businesses in order to drive the business based on sales, history and market trends.
  • Partners with planning to align on top down budgets to implement the seasonal plans and tie back to the merchandise strategies
  • Establishes relationships through effective collaboration and participates as a solution oriented team member. Provides timely direction and clean communication to all team members
  • Take lead role in management meetings (business review meetings, monthly OTB, assortment reviews, etc.), communicating in-depth analysis of respective departments and classifications; sell and validate point of view with facts and analysis.
  • Exhibits leadership capability and can motivate, mentor and train Associate and Assistant  team members. Possesses the ability to handle up, down and across with results
  • Ability to develop and drive department strategies. Analyzes LY information as well as current market to support strategy development. Identifies how current trend will affect future results and adjusts as needed
  • Works in partnership with design to edit and assort the line, ensuring product supports department strategies and falls within brand aesthetic
  • Partners with visual to communicate big ideas, key investments, strategies and special needs
  • Is a guide on the competition and industry trends; ability to unlocking new business opportunities that are innovative, on brand product. Understands competitive set, including pricing, style and key messaging and uses knowledge to make sound recommendations for departments
  • Must be proficient in Excel with experience in style planning.  
  • Manage the creation of seasonal assortment plans across 12 departments and responsible for assorting and buying seasonal assortments for both  North American Outlet stores and eCommerce channels.
  • Direct the creation of line architectures that meet both customer and consumer needs, ensuring product offerings reflect the latest market trends.
  • Work closely with product development and design teams to align on product specifications and to achieve financial and development objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:       

  • Experience in Kids apparel Buying and Merchandising, a plus
  • 3-4  years Merchandising/Buying experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Fashion Merchandising
  • Balanced analytical mind with innovative, creative thought – from business operation and product standpoints
  • Proficient in Excel- pivot tables, v-lookup formulas etc.
  • Must be highly organized; change-agile, ability to work in dynamic, fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience
  • Strong analytic skills with strong working knowledge of retail math
  • Motivation to exceed plan and unrelenting aim to challenge status quo
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong financial and planning skills
  • A demonstrated sense of design and understanding of how to consistently convey our brand to the consumer
  • This role requires being a key decision maker for the areas of business they oversee.
  • Being creative in providing solutions and recommendations as business challenges arise
  • Be a trusted member of the CFT and the go person for their business
  • Ability to work in high energy environment with changing priorities

Pay Range:$85,000 - $100,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills. PVH is committed to providing a market-competitive total rewards package to eligible associates, which includes diverse and robust health and insurance benefits to meet the varied needs of our associates and an above-market 401(k) contribution to help our associates save for retirement. Additional Compensation: This role is bonus eligible.
