A DPO's main role is to assist with compliance with the GDPR and other applicable data protection laws within EMEA, and in particular with the accountability principle of the GDPR.  The role is primarily inward-facing, as the DPO carries out training and assists with data protection impact assessments, although there are external-facing elements, including cooperation and consultation with supervisory authorities.

You will be working as part of a cross-functional team delivering best-in-class privacy and data protection counselling to make sure PVH GDPR program is up to date and aligned with the needs of the business and functional teams. Your daily responsibility will be to maintain PVH GDPR program as well as offer consistent guidance on key areas, such as data governance, data retention and deletion, cross-border data transfers, processing register, trainings data security and privacy, responsible for the data protection champions network within PVH, etc. You will be part of the COE Global Privacy and report to the VP Associate General Counsel Global Privacy.

The position will be resident at our PVH Europe campus in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Our Legal team members there include over 20+ legal professionals of varying nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and legal expertise areas.

Key Responsibilities:
 

The main role of the DPO is GDPR accountability (one of PVH core privacy principles), and in particular overseeing the data processing activities of PVH Europe and all its EU-affiliated companies. The main tasks of a DPO are:

  • Be an expert in understanding PVH Europe’s business/set up.

  • Run PVH Europe’s privacy and data protection program, including monitoring its compliance with GDPR and related EMEA region regulations, including those in the UK, Turkey and the UAE, as well as PVH’s privacy commitments as applied to its operations throughout EMEA.

  • Run the EMEA data privacy champion network (training, processing activities overview management, etc).

  • Improve existing privacy protocols, templates (DPA/DPIAs), policies, processes and procedures.

  • Responsible for DSAR (data subject access rights for access, rectification, deletion, etc.) and making sure proper processes are in place – assist CS for the consumers' DSAR when needed.

  • Answer inquiries from data authorities.

  • Create and implement a DPIAs process and monitor its performance.

  • Assessment of third party services providers regarding their processing and security of personal data (PIAs within PVH Vendor Management System). This is for any new vendors, renewals or changes of scope if they access any personal data, including repertory of all processing activities, as well as data processing agreements.

  • Support internal audit team with GDPR audit and request audits when necessary

  • Collaborate and provide periodic reports to the VP Associate General Counsel Global Privacy on data protection risks and GDPR compliance issues.

Note: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed above. The role may require additional tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.

Requirements

This role requires an experienced, strategic DPO professional with a proven track record of partnering with business and core functions. The ideal candidate will possess an ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and experience in change management and organizational development.
 

  • Law Master’s degree in Privacy, IT, security, or a related field

  • Proven significant experience as a DPO with at least 8years

  • Track record of advising on privacy topics for large companies with an established online presence.

  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand and influence key business drivers and goals

  • Expertise in change management and organizational development, with a focus on driving efficiency and performance

  • Excellent analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work under pressure, juggle shifting priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and independently.

  • Well-organized and gives attention to detail.

  • Fluency in English, with additional languages a plus

  • Able and eager to work in an international, diverse, and inclusive working environment.

  • A strong team player with a positive attitude;

  • Hard-working yet fun-loving – gets the job done and contributes to a fun working environment overall.

  • Energetic, entrepreneurial, and curious; able to think out-of-the-box and eager to learn, improve things, and find innovative solutions.
