Position Summary

The Director of Product Compliance will lead and oversee the strategic development and implementation of the global product compliance program at PVH, ensuring that products comply with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal requirements. This role requires strategic leadership and collaboration with cross-functional teams as well as external partners, to ensure effective and compliant processes. The Director will drive continuous improvement initiatives, monitor emerging regulatory trends, and act as a key liaison for regulatory inquiries and audits. Product Compliance projects within the current portfolio focus on continuous program improvement, defining key performance indicators (KPIs) and system requirements, and supporting PFAS reporting and regulatory readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Program Management: Spearhead the strategic development, implementation, and maintenance of a robust global product compliance program to ensure compliance with all relevant product regulations, internal standards, and requirements as it pertains to regulatory labeling, product safety, product restricted substance list and import compliance.

  • Team Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Product Compliance team, ensuring timely, effective, and high-quality execution of tasks. Foster a team of future leaders by promoting growth and excellence in their roles. Hire the right talent to support both team and company goals, and lead with a people-first approach in everything you do.

  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic guidance and collaborate effectively with senior leadership to drive execution of the Product Compliance Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including preparation of executive decision-making materials and development of cross-functional partnerships to ensure alignment and delivery

  • Regulatory Monitoring & Implementation: Lead the monitoring and implementation of emerging product compliance regulations, industry standards, and best practices, providing guidance to cross-functional teams and ensuring continuous alignment with regulatory requirements. Ensure that the global program management is kept up to date ahead of legislation implementation deadline with a key focus on efficiency and risk-based decisions.

  • Product Compliance Process Governance: Defining, managing and improving the governance framework ensuring that processes are aligned with organizational goals and executed efficiently across teams and departments.

  • Risk Management: Lead the execution of product compliance program implementation by the brands and oversee a risk based due diligence approach on verifying the implementation of the global program management. Drive the reporting on critical KPI’s and establish improvement plans when risks are identified.

  • Product Risk Mitigation: Lead close collaboration with the Traceability team on reducing post-shipment Product Escalation Management issues related to sustainable product claims.

  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product compliance processes and systems, fostering efficiency, accuracy, and risk mitigation by monitoring KPI’s and market trends.

  • Internal Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as the primary point of contact and lead cross-functional engagement with key internal stakeholders, including Traceability, Legal, Product Integrity, Testing, Supply, Corporate Responsibility and Brand Sustainability —to develop and implement a best-in-class product compliance program

  • External Stakeholder Engagement: Lead the engagement and act as key-liaison with industry organizations such as AFIRM and AAFA as it pertains to product regulations.

  • Ensure connection with the wider Traceability, Packaging and Product Compliance department: Collaborate with the department to anticipate and integrate strategic, collaborative projects that support product compliance across the value chain.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of proven track record and experience in product compliance management, ideally within a global fashion brand/retailer or consumer goods company.

  • Proven experience serving on leadership teams, with responsibility for setting strategic direction and leading teams in driving compliance initiatives.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and present to senior executives and cross-functional leadership, translating complex compliance issues into strategic insights that inform high-level decision-making.

  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships and actively engaging with industry organizations to influence standards, share best practices, and stay ahead of regulatory developments.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Law, Business, Regulatory Affairs, Textile engineering and/ or Fashion Management or related discipline); advanced degree preferred.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and drive change.

  • Strong understanding of global product regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities with experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and external regulatory bodies.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Proven track record in establishing internal audits, responding to regulatory inquiries, and compliance documentation management.

  • Proven track recording in developing and implementing policies, processes, and performance indicators related to product compliance.
