Within the People Experience and Services team, our mission is to deliver a best-in-class associate experience. The Position
The Director, Employee Relations Lead will drive the employee relations strategy across EMEA, with direct oversight of EHQ operations. This role ensures compliance with labor laws, manages complex sickness cases, and oversees grievances, disciplinaries, and disputes. This position combines deep subject matter expertise in labor laws, employee relations case management, with a people-first approach that supports business continuity, compliance and positive associate experiences. The Director will lead complex ER matters, long-term sickness management, and participate in collaboration with employee representatives across key EMEA markets.
Working closely with occupational health and HR business partners, this role promotes consistent, fair, and compliant sickness and absence management at EHQ, contributing to a positive associate experience.

Key Responsibilities:
• Strategic Leadership – Design and implement a forward-looking EMEA Employee Relations strategy and aligned policies.
• Employee Relations Oversight - Lead EHQ employee relations, ensuring excellence in sickness and conflict management. Ensure accurate and thorough documentation and case tracking.
• Data & Insights - analyze ER trends and sickness/absence data and recommend improvements leading to positive trends in associate well-being, retention, and ER efficiency.
• Compliance & Policy Governance – Enable continuous updates to processes and policies aligned with changing legal landscape as well Provide expert guidance on high-risk cases, ensuring compliance with law and policy.
• Sickness and absence trend oversight – overall process ownership as well as vendor relationship; design processes that allow for optimal use of digital tools as well as proactive analysis of trends
• Case handling - Lead investigations, driving fair and compliant outcomes.
• Develop, review and modernize ER – related policies and practices. Act as a solid partner to HR teams and managers on complex cases.
• Team Leadership & Collaboration – lead a develop a high-performing ER team; mentor and grow team capabilities.


Note: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed above. The role may require additional tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.

• Compliance with health, safety, and labor standards.
• Timely, fair and compliant resolution of complex ER cases as well as consistent follow-up for sickness cases.
• Effective conflict resolution and issue management.
• Increased associate trust and satisfaction with ER processes; high confidence and partnership from internal stakeholders.
• Transparent and compliant documentation.
• Measurable improvements in sickness case outcomes and absence trends.
• Strong partnerships across HR, legal, and health teams.
• A future ready ER function that evolves with the business.
• Continuous process improvements based on insights.


The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a senior ER professional with deep experience in managing sickness, conflict resolution, and policy compliance. You bring a strategic mindset, excellent communication, and the ability to lead through complex, sensitive situations.
• 7+ years in Employee Relations, with expertise in sickness and conflict management, and a minimum of 5+ years of managerial experience
• Deep knowledge of labor laws and ER best practices relevant to EHQ
• Proven ability in handling long-term sickness and occupational health cases
• Strong background in managing grievances, disciplinaries, and disputes
• Skilled in interpreting and updating HR policies
• Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Leadership experience with a focus on high performance and improvement
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities
• Fluent in English, both written and verbal
• Experience in retail, fashion, or consumer brands preferred
