Position Summary:

Responsible for optimizing processes and systems to improve efficiency, productivity, and reduce costs within one of our Warehousing & Distribution (W&D) locations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement: Analyzing existing processes, procedures, and workflows to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving initiatives.

  • Performance Measurement and Analysis: Conducting time studies, establishing productivity standards (labor standards), and developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and report on warehouse and transportation efficiency.

  • Layout and Workflow Optimization: Designing and recommending improvements to facility layouts, product flows, and workstation ergonomics to enhance worker efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Leading and participating in continuous improvement and Lean Manufacturing improvement teams. This may involve facilitating Kaizen events and implementing Lean principles.

  • Labor Management: Developing and maintaining labor standards, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting the implementation of labor management systems including appropriate considerations for existing collective bargaining agreements.

  • Data Analysis: Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to understand process performance, identify bottlenecks, and develop data-driven solutions.

  • Training and Support: Training supervisors and employees on proper methods, tools, and system principles to promote efficiency and support facility and corporate goals.

  • Technology and Automation: Analyzing and identifying automation projects and evaluating mechanical and technology equipment for process improvement.

  • Quality Control: Establishing and maintaining quality control procedures to ensure product standards are met and reduce waste.

  • Cost Reduction: Estimating distribution costs and actively seeking out and implementing cost reductions.

  • Project Management: Plan, Organize, Lead and Monitor various projects in cross-functional teams as required.

  • Work collaboratively with peer positions in other W&D locations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field. Master's degree in a related field a plus.

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in Industrial Engineering including internships and work-based experience, preferably within a distribution center environment.

  • Technical Skills:
     - Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods.
     - Experience with time studies, work measurement, and labor standards development.
     - Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
     - Proficiency with CAD and simulation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Slot3D).
     - Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
     - Microsoft Office Suite expertise (i.e. Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio).

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Internal : DC Management, Hourly Associates, IT, Procurement
External : Corporate office, vendors, other PVH locations, outside contractors

Budgetary Responsibilities:

Equipment: Capital acquisition coordinator for the facility

Contracts: Negotiates schedules, costs and payments in partnership w/ Procurement

Cost Savings: Determined annually
