Maintenance Facilities TechPosition Summary: This semi-skilled manual work position in general facilities, custodial, and labor activities supports the buildings and grounds. The position also represents a potential entry-level job into the maintenance department pending the results of the standardized mechanical aptitude test.
Primary Responsibilities of the Job:
Perform work in caring for grounds and facility requiring minimal knowledge, skills and abilities. Such work might include changing light fixtures, hanging pictures, storing files, setup and/or take-down of tables, etc.
Integrate Safe work practices into every new task assigned and learn new safe behaviors from senior maintenance technicians. Apply learned behaviors to new assignments. Demonstrate customer focus by maintaining a neat and clean work area during both localized and shop-area projects. Possess mechanical skills sufficient to complete basic facilities tasks such as towel replenishment and light bulb replacement.
Sweep aisles, walkways, and underneath equipment as time permits or need requires. Maintain floor sweeper operational condition by implementing user-level filter and brush replacements, along with minor repairs as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor. Restock hand soap, toilet paper, paper towel dispensers, and sanitary supply dispensers. Provide operational support by delivering supplies as needed to various departmental supervisors as needed. Clean water fountain surfaces with a disinfectant cleaner. Dust all horizontal surfaces, desks, and counters. Wipe off air conditioner vents, both intakes and exhausts. Clean refrigerators and employee lunch coolers along with break room tables, microwaves, and sinks/faucets. Develop and present training and communication sessions for the department related to new, modified, or facility operations familiar to E-Tech issues in order to share best practices Understand basic personal computer operations including sending and receiving e-mail messages. Understand and demonstrate the ability to effectively access computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) to retrieve work order assignments and enter feedback or historical data necessary to document work performed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience: Must have 2-3 years of general labor, preferably in an industrial environment
Education: Requires High School Diploma or GED. Technical school or technical training preferred. Willingness to attend and complete conveyor training classes off site. Analytical skills including meters and gauges
Skills: Must possess troubleshooting and communication skills, mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate various equipment, ability to use hand tools.
