The Team

The Global Marketing Strategy team at Tommy Hilfiger plays a central role in creating, executing, and overseeing the strategic direction of the Tommy Hilfiger and Tommy Jeans brands. This group collaborates across regions and functions to ensure alignment with brand goals and commercial objectives. Reporting directly to the Senior Director Global Marketing Strategy, the Marketing Trainee supports the team’s mission to drive brand relevance and build operational excellence in global marketing strategies and initiatives.

 

 

The Position

The Marketing Traineeship in the Global Marketing Strategy team is a dynamic and fast-paced program to develop high-potential talents into future leaders in the Brand and Marketing field. With the team's remit and direct reporting line to the CMO, the team is well-positioned to provide a conducive learning environment and exposure into various brand and marketing functions, offering hands-on experience in strategy development and brand management. The Marketing Trainee will take part in a structured 18-24-month program with opportunities for growth, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration. At the end of the cycle, if successful, the Marketing Trainee may be deployed to the relevant part of the Marketing organization or other parts of the business.


Key Responsibilities:

The Marketing Trainee role is a fast-track development program offering opportunities to gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in various facets of Marketing, including but not limited to consumer insights, marketing strategy and planning, brand marketing, product marketing, digital marketing and consumer engagement. The Marketing Trainee will provide pivotal support to the team and leaders across a range of subjects and challenges, all while gaining knowledge and skills to develop into a well-rounded, enterprise-thinking, Marketer.

 

Strategy Development: Support the team in the development of strategies and plans. Participate in problem-solving and decision-making processes under the guidance of senior leaders.

 

Team Support: Assist team members with day-to-day tasks and projects. Proactively take on administrative duties, such as preparing reports, presentations, and data analysis, under the supervision of a manager. Help implement best practices in processes and operations.

 

Market and Competitive Analysis: Support the Managers in the ongoing situational analysis to ensure a deep understanding of the competitive landscape and target consumer audiences, identifying opportunities and challenges for brand positioning.

 

Project Management: Take ownership of small projects or parts of larger projects, ensuring deadlines are met and objectives are achieved. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to complete project goals.

 

Organizational Embedding: Gain deep knowledge of various functions within the organization and establish a strong network of contacts across different levels.

 

Marketing Academy Evangelization: Promote the mission of the Marketing Academy and the Marketing Traineeship Program by participating in promotional initiatives and contributing to the continuous improvement of the program.

 

Note: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, those listed above. The role may require additional tasks and duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.

 

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent in Marketing, Communications, Business or related field.

  • Experience: Opportunity for fresh graduates without prior experience. Extra-curricular projects, internships or minimal work experience are advantageous.

  • Communication Skills: Confident communicator and ability to articulate thoughts clearly and succinctly in oral and written form.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Comfortable in working across levels as the role provides exposure to senior leadership.

  • Growth Mindset: Demonstrates a proactive approach to learning and embraces feedback as a tool for continuous development.

  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in PowerPoint and Keynote and MS Office suite.

  • Analytical Skills: Able to navigate quantitative and qualitative data points and able to distill insights.

  • Curiosity: This is a role that presents opportunities to work on challenges from a wide array of disciplines, so curiosity combined with pragmatic problem-solving will go a long way.
