The Team

The global planning team sits within the heart of the global product team. In close collaboration with the business units, it gives strategic direction, sets objectives for collection KPIs, drives pricing strategies, and monitors results, as well as building a close link between countries, retail, ecom, and head office to fulfill consumer needs by creating the framework for profitable assortments.

The global planning team is the business units’ partner for data-driven collection planning and decision making. Ensuring the translation of long-term strategic growth into short-term and seasonal objectives in an omnichannel environment. Driving operational excellence through checks and balances of key KPIs to achieve business unit and brand goals. The global planning team is a cross-category team that works closely with individual business units through dedicated global planners.

The Position
 

Reporting into the Global Central Planning Senior Manager, the Global Planning Analyst runs deep analysis on collection performance and supports the global planning team in translating the conclusions in storylines presentable to a wider audience. As a skilled user of data sources, you will be an ambassador for data usage.

You will work closely with the wider global planning, product BU's, strategy, data and analytics, and consumer insights teams on collection performance and range plan targets. In parallel, you will help drive product strategies and process improvement project,s sitting in the global planning team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understanding of business unit processes and development calendar, monitoring performance and development of multiple seasons.
  • Understanding of category & regional financial ambitions and be able to challenge and drive toward strategic common directions.
  • Seasonal planning analysis, on growth drivers, merchandise flow, optimal balance product fashionability mix and lifecycle management.
  • Create visibility on productivity analysis (ABC, Cutting Long Tail), sales analysis (Sell-In, Sell-Out) and create visual aids to draw conclusions to support the right category development.
  • Creating pricing analysis, leveraging competitor information and building scenarios in alignment with price elasticity analysis.
  • Executing continuous check and balance on seasonal collection development and forecasts, supporting the wider planning team with detailed insights.
  • Track and bring visibility around seasonal margin development within the category and bring effective recommendations to drive margin improvements.
  • Support the wider planning team with Post-Seasonal in-depth analyses on collection performance, as input for Range Plan targets.
  • Updating and maintaining periodic master data reports and workbooks and identify master data quality issues in reports.
  • Being an ambassador and driver towards design, merchandisers and product developers to use Tableau, master data reports or other reporting tools.
  • Work closely with Analytics and Planning Leads to ensure elevation of current analysis tools, maximising the focus on accuracy and Omnichannel analytical approach.
  • Support the team and Planning leads with detailed data requests and analysis inside or outside of Tableau, master data reports and other tools
  • Involvement as expert in new projects within the global planning team.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • 2+ years planning experience in a commercial industry.
  • Proven track record creating productive working relationships.
  • Sophisticated knowledge of Excel, proven capability to handle big datasets.
  • Must be an effective communicator, able to manage expectations with different stakeholders and prioritize during conflicting deadlines.
  • Proactive attitude and growth mindset with ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment with ad hoc deadlines.
  • Methodical, numerical and analytical mindset. Proven capability of data visualization.
  • Team player and flexibility in working hours e.g. overtime in peak periods.
  • Good understanding of merchandising and planning, interest in fashion.
  • Proven capability to proactively solve straightforward challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written as verbal.
