PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Effectively coach, develop and manage the Store Design team and carryout annual Performance Review meeting for Managers and Coordinators.
  • Manage creation and development of new stores based on design concepts, brand standard and local business requirements.
  • Manage direction of new store concept(s) set up and establish standards/planning principles in Japan market.
  • Manage planning and communication of new and renovated store set ups to ensure optimal, tailored assortments by location.
  • Manage ensuring stores are designed/planned to meet local requirements, required design/quality levels and within given budget (CAPEX & Expense) and sometimes in a cost effective manner when necessary.
  • Create and lead strategic annual Store Design SG&A both HQ and store.
  • Take lead on ensuring all existing store fixtures is up-to-dated and maintained in brand standard, aligned within local business requirements.
  • Manage direction of the store layout planning and designs of new stores, renovations and enhance existing stores for Japan. 
  • Manage to provide suggestions to regional office on design details, material application and space planning for the existing design concept for further improvement.
  • Manage ensuring consistency of store layout planning and guidelines. 
  • Responsible for store layout planning / store layout planning drawing pack review across given areas. Reviews of layouts and design/construction information about proposed drawings submitted by supplier, Distributor and licensing team.
  • Draw up alternate layouts and design suggestions as directed by Store Design & Visual Merchandising Director/Function Head.
  • Manage on preparing commentary package, review contractor shop drawings, material samples and store opening reports.
  • Manage on preparing deliverables for whole store design team including but not limited to reports, programs, presentations and drawings.
  • Managing and leading to solve critical issues by collaborating with all involved parties.
  • Collaborates with suppliers, monitor construction progress /compliance with design intent on all projects on a periodic basis to ensure consistency of brand guidelines and standards.
  • Provide senior project management services to key store projects.
  • Be the senior key contact point for store designing counterparts.
  • Leading team strategies to conduct and organize workshop and training for internal stakeholders within given areas.
  • Leading team strategies to conduct regular market and site visits.
  • Responsible for supervise design outsourcing agency in the market.
  • Responsible of planning offices designs/layouts with internal stakeholders.
  • Responsible of managing the store planning project database including physical and digital housekeeping of drawing packages, store information and material packages for the regional store planning team on daily basis.
  • Collaborate with the Global + Regional Store Concept & Design & Development & Planning team, local partners and internal stakeholders for the coordination of project execution.
  • High ability to foster team approach and motivate others.
  • Create and lead team organizational structure aligning with local business needs.
