POSITION SUMMARY:

All brands strategy, product development and innovation are led and driven by certain PVH affiliates in the Netherlands and US with respect to products under the Tommy Hilfiger brand sold in EMEA, NA & APAC regions. The position in this job description helps the above-mentioned PVH related parties meet their operating and strategic needs.

  • The Senior Costing Engineer role will lead and facilitate initiatives that elevate the performance of TH Global Supply in terms of cost competitiveness.
  • The role is also responsible for the creation and implementation of effective cost analytical methods, processes, tools as well as execution of strategies to optimize total cost & improve operational efficiency

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES (Describe the major responsibilities and accountabilities of the position. Clearly and concisely indicate the end result(s) a person in the position is expected to accomplish.)

  • Provide seasonal cost benchmarks in style level, identify cost gaps and communicate to relevant teams for better cost negotiations
  • Develop Should Cost standards for key costing building blocks by applying fact-based costing methodology
  • Identify the cost improvement opportunities through product re-engineering, manufacturing process improvement, material waste improvement etc., and drive the implementation 
  • Drive cost analytics and cost governance initiatives
  • Support seasonal macro cost trend forecasting and capturing mechanism; and reconciliation against actuals for reporting
  • Support Costing leadership on global strategic costing initiatives

  • Primarily based in the Bangalore office. 
  • Overseas travel may be needed based on leadership request and work involvement

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience: (The required degrees, certifications or licenses & the number of years and type of experience required for this position.)

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Industrial Engineering (IE) or a related field.
  • Extensive experience working in the apparel manufacturing sector with Industrial Engineering / Apparel Product Costing related functions.  
  • Applied experience in work measurement techniques in the apparel industry is expected. GSD licensed practitioners will have a strong advantage
  • Training / certification in Lean Manufacturing and/or 6 Sigma tools preferred.
  • Operational / Supply Chain experience in a multinational corporation preferred.

  • Advanced level Excel skills are required
