POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Pattern Maker, Technical Design develops block patterns in select fit sizes for key silhouettes, and supports accurate fit corrections with the category-specific Technical Designers, to assure a consistent fit standard across our Brand. Women’s Apparel product categories, including Tailoring, are the primary focus, but expertise in Men’s fit development is a plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:

  • Develop and maintain a block library with physical samples and e-patterns for key silhouettes across the Calvin Klein Women’s Apparel product categories. These will be leveraged to support development of seasonal product to assure consistency of fit to our global standard

  • Work with Tech Design and Design leads to define silhouette and fit standard for base sizes, and streamline and standardize grading across global size range

  • Create accurate and proportional grading across all pattern pieces for key blocks

  • Knowledge and understanding of fabric characteristics, relationship to drape, balance and fit of silhouettes. 

  • Generate detailed technical specifications, including measurements, construction details, to guide production.

  • Support Tech Design team in communicating fit corrections, with pattern guidance, for vendors at key points in development process

  • Partner with the Calvin Klein Design team and in-house atelier to share expertise and drive a consistent fit standard

  • Support fitting, garment engineering, product quality and risk assessment with Technical Design team.

The Ideal Candidate description:

  • 10-15 years of pattern-making experience minimum, including experience in electronic pattern making, across Women’s Apparel product categories, including Tailoring, Men’s expertise and experience in addition, is a strong plus

  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, fitting workmanship and manufacturing processes

  • Experience working with Optitex Pattern Making Software is required

  • Strong knowledge in all aspects of technical product development, including product construction, manufacturing processes & quality, grading & pattern development within relevant categories

  • Effective communication skills: inclusive team player, interdepartmental collaboration

  • Able to work in a highly productive, multicultural, fast paced environment with a hands-on approach

ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to work with multi-cultural, multi- lingual, multi-time zone business partners and counter-parts. 

  • The Technical Design team is in office at least four days per week, with some flexibility for working from home

Pay Range:$115,000 - $135,000
