The Team

The PVH Legal team has teams located in different locations around the globe (New York, Amsterdam and Hong Kong to name a few). With a cross-functional reach and hands-on mentality, the Legal Department delivers a full range of best-in-class legal services to the entire company. Certain legal expertise areas are organized in Centers of Expertise (CoEs) in which team members specialized in such legal expertise area are part, regardless of where they are located.

The regional legal team of PVH Europe, based in Amsterdam, has team members who focus on one or more of the following legal expertise areas:

The team based in Amsterdam consists of 20+ legal professionals of varying nationalities, backgrounds, cultures and legal expertise areas. We support the PVH business in EMEA, the TOMMY HILFIGER brand globally and CALVIN KLEIN brand in EMEA. We work on a broad spectrum of issues on a daily basis, from looking into new designs or negotiating a celebrity partnership, to training customs officials to identify counterfeits, supporting our fashion-tech journey, balancing privacy concerns and closing high stake commercial deals.

The Position

We are seeking a Brand Protection Paralegal to support the Senior Manager of Brand Protection for EMEA to strengthen our EMEA Brand Protection (BP) capabilities. The brand protection strategy is part of the Global COE IP. This role supports the BP team’s online and offline anti-counterfeiting enforcement, investigations, litigation, vendor oversight, and cross-functional engagement for CK and TH across the EMEA region. The position will support Senior Manger BP with Digital Product Passport, RFID, and other relevant projects to BP as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

As Brand Protection Paralegal, you will contribute to the successful implementation of the global brand protection strategy for TOMMY HILFIGER and CALVIN KLEIN, namely:

  • Support with the management of the day-to-day operations of our IP enforcement programs in EMEA, including timely and accurate product identification and authentication of samples, and draft written statements to support the successful prosecution and handling of targets;

  • Vendor set-up and management in vendor management and invoicing systems. This includes the review of invoices and matter matrix. Regular checks of budget allocations and recharge code assignment;

  • Support to establish effective and collaborative working relationships with customs, police and other law enforcement and government agencies, through organizing and contributing to trainings and seminars conducted by the BP team and preparing relevant presentations and training materials on the identification of counterfeit Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger products;

  • Assist in requesting and consolidating up to date product information from the Europe product divisions;

  • Assist Senior Manager BP to follow up on local business requests/leads and customer service requests. Working with PR/Communications teams to address customer inquiries;

  • Support the BP team in the collaboration with Meta, incl. in-depth investigation into and reporting of infringing Meta ads;

  • Support in the online brand protection work for Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, including online marketplace and social media enforcement;

  • Create and maintain detailed and accurate records of brand protection matters in our case management systems and take full ownership of the administration of these systems;

  • Draft presentations and reports on brand protection; including results, specific cases and counterfeiting trends. Therefore, strong data collecting and sharing skills are critical;

  • Manage the preparation of legal documents for signature and legalization.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have an analytical mindset and eye for detail and possess exceptional organizational skills. Additional IP qualifications (e.g., trademark specialization) are a plus.

  • Bachelor's degree in Law at university level. Additional IP qualifications (e.g., trademark specialization) are a plus;

  • Passionate and knowledgeable paralegal or Brand Protection Professional with a minimum of 3 years’ experience;

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English;

  • Online platform and marketplace investigations and enforcement experience preferred (e.g., Corsearch), and data-driven reporting;

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data and metrics;

  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced work environment;

  • Excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint), and IP case management software. Proficiency in (legal) technology solutions preferred, such as case management systems, contract management systems, e-billing platforms, and document management systems;

  • Strong sense of teamwork, with an ability to work independently and accomplish team priorities without day-to-day oversight;

  • Natural collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with other team members, cross-functional and cross-regional teams, stakeholders, and external partners.
