POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Designer III, Apparel Print Designer will be responsible for the creation and development of prints and concepts for Calvin Klein Apparel, ensuring alignment with the brand’s vision and aesthetic. This role involves transforming design concepts into precise, technical prints for the development and production process. The Designer III will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Design, Merchandising, and Sales, to understand customer needs, drive sales, and maintain alignment across all product lines. This position plays a critical role in translating creative ideas into commercially viable, on-brand apparel designs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB: 

  • Research and present print trend directions for each season which align to the Calvin Klein print language across the Men’s, Women’s - Full Price, Wholesale and Off-Price divisions.
  • Explore scale, color and layout variations of artwork.
  • Supervise artwork and color submits for both Women’s and Men’s categories, to ensure consistent high quality design aesthetic and overall product quality.
  • Generate CADs for garment print placements and tech packs for SMS and production.
  • Ensure calendar deadline achievement in collaboration with cross-functional partners  
  • Organize and maintain print archives and strike-offs
  • Research the market and trend services to keep designs trend correct
  • Work with Sourcing teams to execute high quality product within calendar timelines

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience: 8 - 10 years of Apparel Print Design experience; 4-5 years of experience managing and leading a team

        

Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred

Skills: 

  • Proficient in Adobe Suite: Photoshop, illustrator and InDesign as well as Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat
  • Must be technically skilled and capable of communicating comments to vendors, Sourcing, and Supply teams
  • Web PDM – create and maintain design packages
  • Aesthetically keen eye
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, as well as excellent visual communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent color matching skills

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONTACTS:

          

Internal:  Collaborate with SVP of Design to present seasonal print designs and concepts. Partner with Design and Merch teams regarding any print-related needs for alignment and provide print design direction to ensure consistency.

      

External: Meet with print vendors and collaborate with print studios.

Direct: Assistant Print Designer

Indirect: Freelancers as needed

BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

         

DECISION MAKING:  Selection of design layouts, colors, patterns, and motifs, refining print specifications, adjusting scale and repeat patterns.

RESOURCEFULNESS/CREATIVITY:  Ability to design and handle multiple seasons at one time. Maintain consistent high quality of product from season to season, vendor to vendor. Flexible in designs to meet sales needs while still providing newness to products. Willing to make changes as needed to meet changing business needs. Must be very organized and detailed to effectively follow up on preproduction approvals. Highly creative in design to provide newness while maintaining the correct technical approach.

ENVIRONMENT:  Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role requires adaptability and a proactive approach to meeting production schedules.

Pay Range:$115,000 - $140,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills. Additional Compensation: This role is bonus eligible.
