The Team
The Global Consumer Brand Experience team is responsible for crafting immersive, multi-sensory environments that captivate consumers and drive brand loyalty. Through Retail Concept Design, Visual Merchandising, Windows & Showrooms and Store Experience, we elevate engagement across all channels and markets with a 360° approach.
Balancing creativity with commercial strategy, we ensure global consistency with local adaptability, shaping the physical identity and consumer experience across retail, wholesale, and pop-up environments. The Position
The Director, VM Outlets, is responsible for leading and executing the global Visual Merchandising strategy across all outlet stores, ensuring a strong brand presence while balancing commercial and operational needs.
This role provides leadership to managers and professional associates, overseeing regional VM teams and ensuring accountability for the performance and results of global outlet VM execution. The Director develops departmental plans, setting business, production, and organizational priorities while ensuring alignment with regional and brand objectives.
This position requires an in-depth understanding of outlet retail dynamics, including how to optimize product presentation to drive sales, adapt to varying store formats, and manage inventory fluctuations. The Director exercises full management authority, including performance reviews, pay decisions, recruitment, and other personnel actions to build a high-performing team.
The Director will work closely with Store Design, Merchandising, and Marketing to establish best practices, drive innovation, and enhance the consumer shopping experience while maintaining global brand standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement a global VM strategy for outlet stores, ensuring alignment with full-price brand positioning while adapting to outlet-specific commercial dynamics.
Define and oversee seasonal product presentation and storytelling strategies that drive sales performance while maintaining a premium brand image.
Lead and provide guidance to regional VM teams, ensuring clear execution of global VM guidelines, training initiatives, and operational consistency.
Partner with Merchandising to manage inventory fluctuations through strategic and adaptable VM solutions.
Oversee floor layout planning, zoning strategies, and fixture placement, optimizing consumer engagement and traffic flow.
Collaborate with Marketing, Windows, and Store Design to develop impactful window displays and in-store activations that elevate the outlet shopping experience.
Establish best practices for discount messaging and signage, balancing commercial effectiveness with brand aesthetics.
Conduct regular store visits and audits, assessing execution, providing feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
Ensure that all fixture investments and VM tools are scalable and cost-effective for outlet locations.
Act as a key liaison between global and regional teams, ensuring alignment, knowledge-sharing, and efficient execution.
The Ideal Candidate
7+ years of leadership experience in Visual Merchandising, with a strong understanding of outlet retail environments.
Proven ability to lead and develop regional VM teams, exercising full management authority, including performance evaluations and talent development.
Strategic decision-making skills, balancing brand storytelling with commercial strategy, guided by regional and departmental objectives.
Strong analytical ability to assess sales performance and VM effectiveness, solving complex business challenges with data-driven insights.
Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact with executives and major customers.
Willingness to travel regularly to global outlet locations to oversee execution and provide strategic direction.
