The Team
The Tommy Jeans Product Development team is responsible for the development of the product, from initial concept through to physical and digital garments and delivers high quality, innovative and sustainable products while delivering on company & divisional KPI’s.
We closely collaborate with other product development divisions to align processes and ensure efficiencies and partner with a number of stakeholders: design & merchandising, through to supply value chain, buying & planning and global teams.

The Position
The Junior Product Developer is responsible for the product development from sketch (created by Design) until final product. The product is developed, produced and received based on the standards and goals established in cooperation with the Design / Merchandising department. The key objective is to be responsible for the follow up of the total Tommy Jeans Shirts and Non Denim Bottoms development in collaboration with Merchandise, Design, Technical team and Sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for development of the TJM Shirts and Non Denim Bottoms Collection.

  • Works with the offshore offices, vendors to control the status and changes to the styles, follows up on deadlines for proto samples and sales samples.

  • Communicates all changes on styles to the buying offices & direct vendors.

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the garment worksheets and size specifications in close collaboration with Design and the Technical team.

  • Coordinates and ensures that all the systems are updated and matching as per internal information (PLM etc).

  • Takes a pro-active role in continuously improving the product in ways of quality, fit, sustainability, innovation and premiumization.

  • Negotiates the best possible FOB per style. Has a deep understanding of pricing and understands the different components of cost.

  • Responsible for reaching the requested margin on the product and product group.


The Ideal Candidate

  • Education: higher textile education

  • Minimum 2 years working experience in sourcing and development of woven product, ideally for a international fashion brand

  • Used to working under pressure with deadlines. Is organized and structured.

  • Ability to think out of the box, solution orientated and pragmatic.

  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiating skills.

  • Solid expertise of fabrics and physical production.

  • Willingness to travel.

  • Hands on product mentality and good fashion taste level.

  • Team player.

  • .Ability to work in English
