The Manager of Merchandise Planning Strategy will report to the VP of O&O Merchandise Planning and will work directly with executives and cross functional leaders on critical strategic projects supporting the merchandise planning organization and O&O business.

They will assist the VP and the broader team in a range of high priority strategic projects to help move the organization forward in growth and operational effectiveness. They will independently drive progress on these key projects and initiatives, while partnering with cross functional leaders to gain insight and alignment on key projects and priorities. They will also drive results and insights in the day-to-day business via reporting, ad hoc analysis, and system implementation.

This individual should be comfortable independently bringing structure and logic to open-ended questions to help illuminate insights, recommend actions, and ultimately deliver our financial goals. This role requires flexibility and comfort juggling multiple priorities as well as a willingness to pivot and reprioritize as business dictates. This role will frequently partner with and present to SLT leaders.

The ideal candidate should have an expert knowledge of omni retail businesses with a focus on planning and merchandising functions. 

Responsibilities:

Take the lead on key business priorities & projects, including but not limited to:

  • Assortment planning tool development and deployment – New project that is critical to hitting our sku productivity targets and optimizing our assortment
  • Promotion & pricing optimization, including below chain pricing exploration & business case development
  • Hindsight process development including data analysis and report development and partnering with Buying leaders to align on process and adoption plan
  • Ecommerce business analysis and optimization –Develop KPIs to gain insight into performance and build out reporting and organizational buy-in to deploy those KPIs to identify key areas for future opportunities and initiatives
  • New Store format planning support – Business is launching 2 brand new store format concepts. This individual will need to independently build from scratch a planning tool that gives the business visibility into financial expectations and KPIs by category to support the investment and track performance
  • Use data to make decisions and form business cases, centered around a strong understanding of all key financial metrics
  • Communicate findings to senior leadership by preparing clear and impactful presentations with clearly defined takeaways and recommended actions

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 9+ years of experience in an analytical, strategic role in a retail organization. Robust experience implementing a variety of large and small-scale optimization initiatives.
  • Experience in Merchandise Planning (minimum 5+ years)
  • Experience in data analysis, forecasting, and tool development
  • Experience in project management across a large cross functional organization
  • Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office products with advanced expertise in Excel a must
  • Expertise in merchandising fundamentals (i.e. retail math). Ability to independently analyze metrics, develop data driven insights and make recommendations
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills with a high standard of data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Executive communication skills, both written and verbal, as this role will have frequent interaction with all levels of the organization including SLT and regional CEO
  • Experience working with cross functional and cross regional teams (including SVP-level partners) to drive common objectives / goals
  • Ability to maintain poise and a positive attitude in a challenging, deadline-driven, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment
  • Adaptability to quickly pivot strategies and recommendations in a constantly changing environment.
  • A solutions-oriented mindset and ability to be a change agent
  • A knack for displaying complex data in a clear way

Pay Range:$110,000 - $134,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills. Additional Compensation: This role is bonus eligible.
