About the Role

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support the payroll team in all aspects of payroll and the full end-to-end payroll process. Employees are typically award covered, with majority employed under the General Retail Industry Award. You will process payments accurately and on time, whilst working in a busy and deadline driven environment.

This is a 6-month fixed term position based at Head Office in the heart of the CBD, located at 388 George Street; working from home and in the office weekly. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Complete end to end payroll processing for all pay runs - weekly, monthly.
  • Process payroll journals, payroll tax, reports, and all month end processes for Australian and New Zealand entities.
  • Calculate and process entitlements such as leave, bonuses and process terminations.
  • Complete Single Touch Payroll requirements and submit superannuation accordingly.
  • Ensure all new and existing employee records are maintained and updated accordingly.
  • Coordinate and manage time & attendance system - TimeTarget.

Skills, Experience & Personal Attributes

  • Proven payroll processing experience for a large ANZ company with multiple/complex pay runs and company entities, preferably within the retail industry.
  • Previous experience using Sage MicrOpay, TimeTarget/Humanforce time & attendance system and Workday preferable.
  • Intermediate excel skills and  proven experience with lookups, pivots, sumifs.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Fair Work, Modern Awards and statutory requirements from a payroll perspective.
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service to employees.
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail, accuracy and time management to meet strict deadlines.
  • Confidential and discrete with the ability to manage sensitive and private data.
