About The Role

The Planning Manager drives sales, profitability, and inventory performance across all Calvin Klein retail channels. This role leads the budgeting and forecasting processes for the Retail division, ensuring plans are strategically aligned to the evolving trading environment and deliver optimal commercial outcomes.

Based at our Head Office in the heart of the CBD, located at 388 George Street 2000, this is a full-time hybrid role working from home and in the office weekly.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead and develop a high-performing Retail Planning team, comprising Retail Planners and Allocators, fostering accountability, collaboration and commercial decision-making to achieve business objectives.
  • Own and lead the end-to-end monthly forecasting process across sales, profit and inventory for the Calvin Klein Retail business, including executive sign-off and submission.
  • Provide strategic leadership across retail planning functions, ensuring alignment of inventory, sales and profitability outcomes with broader commercial and brand objectives.
  • Drive performance through proactive analysis of store and channel results against targets, identifying key trends, risks and opportunities, and leading the team to execute actionable strategies.
  • Oversee category profitability across all Calvin Klein retail channels, ensuring performance is monitored, reported and managed through clear commercial actions to achieve forecast and margin targets.
  • Establish and embed retail planning frameworks, principles and governance across the business, including range reviews, lifecycle management, clearance strategies and product obsolescence processes.
  • Ensure consistent execution of retail planning standards, processes and best practice across all channels and planning functions.
  • Lead inventory optimisation strategies to ensure stock levels align with demand, sales plans and commercial priorities while maximising productivity and minimising risk.
  • Direct weekly trade and inventory reviews across all retail channels, ensuring stock allocation strategies support demand, customer experience and financial outcomes.
  • Deliver strategic monthly reporting and insights on key inventory and trading metrics, providing recommendations to senior leadership on risks, opportunities and clearance actions.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Buying, Category, Demand Planning, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance and Retail Operations teams to align planning strategies and deliver commercial outcomes for the Calvin Klein Retail business.
  • Build team capability through coaching, mentoring and performance leadership, creating succession pathways and driving a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.

About You

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior Retail Planning leadership role, with demonstrated success managing high-performing planning teams.
  • Strong expertise in forecasting, budgeting, inventory management and trading strategies within a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Highly commercial and analytical, with the ability to translate data and insights into actionable business outcomes.
  • Proven people leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and developing teams to drive performance and engagement.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • Strategic and solutions-focused mindset, with a proactive approach to continuous improvement, process optimisation and delivering results.
  • Strong understanding of retail financial metrics, inventory productivity and category performance management.
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance commercial priorities and operational execution.
