The Team
Within the Omni Planning & Allocation team, our mission is to drive commercial trade, financial planning, demand forecasting, and allocation & replenishment of inventory across all channels and categories, whilst setting strategic guardrails on product promotions and markdown decisions to maximize margin and profitability. This position's team serves as the backbone of our department, collaborating closely with Buying/Merchandising, DTC Channel teams (eCom, FP, Outlet), Hubs, and Finance to ensure that all inventory and product decisions are aligned with company-wide planning and allocation decisions. With an integral position in the team, the role contributes significantly to the department's operational efficiency, strategic growth, and overall success.
The Position
As Senior Commercial Planner Outlet you will be crucial to the Omni Planning and Allocation Team, creating the commercial trade plans and forecasts for the Outlet sales channel. You will work closely with Hub and DTC EHQ teams to ensure their needs are considered in planning decisions and strategies and decisions are effectively managed. This role is vital for achieving the Omni Planning and Allocation objectives and your work will be key to the commercial success of the TH brand.
Key Responsibilities:
· Trading Hindsight: Input into hindsight reviews of commercial trade results, with insights & analysis focused on transactional KPIs, effectiveness of marketing, POS, promotions, markdowns, and other trading levers, to inform forward-looking trade calendar development.
· Planning, Buying, and Finance collaboration: Partner closely with Finance, Branch Planning, Merchandise Planning, and Buying to align upcoming strategies to build the commercial trading calendar, as part of Merchandise Financial Planning process. Ensure Commercial Plans are tied to financial budgeting and forecasting process across the Hubs.
· Commercial Planning: Build Commercial plans and forecast in-season trends for the Outlet channel at a Daily / Weekly / Monthly / Seasonal / Yearly level. Review commercial KPIs (Sales, Traffic, ATV, UPT, MD, Margin) for the Channel and the Hub/Country level, in partnership with finance, channel leads, hubs, and buying & planning teams.
· Store Portfolio: Understand changes to Outlet store portfolio (openings, closures, refits) and impact on Commercial plans. Forecast Like for Like (LFL) and non LFL commercial trading KPIs.
· Markdowns & Promotions: Understand local markdown / promotion timing, with Branch Planning team, to ensure commercial plans account for local trading patterns by Country. Review commercial plans with Merch Planning & Buying teams to understand how width & depth of offer and inventory will impact commercial trading forecasts.
· Trading events: Track analytics of trading events (marketing/promotions/members week, etc.) to understand impact on trading KPIs and inform impact of future trading decisions and commercial planning
· Continuous improvement: Implement and exploit new systems and processes to continually increase team efficiency.
Measures of Success
· Sales & Revenue: sales and revenue in line with targets including net sales, net margin, markdowns
· Planning accuracy: high levels of planning accuracy across commercial planning KPIs
Requirements
· 4-7+ years of experience in commercial planning, trade, merch planning or commercial finance within a fashion, retail, or consumer goods environment.
· Strong understanding of commercial planning and retail trading, markdown and promotion management, financial trading KPIs, merchandise planning
· Strong commercial and results-driven mindset, with the ability to balance short-term trading needs with long-term strategic planning.
· Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making, leveraging insights to optimize buying strategies and inventory allocation.
· Proven stakeholder management and communication skills, collaborating effectively with Finance, Merch Planning, Buying, VM, Marketing, Channel Leadership, Hubs, and Allocation teams
· Problem solving: advanced understanding of how to solve complex problems and critically assess the solutions required
· Highly adaptable and proactive, thriving in a fast-paced, evolving retail environment.
· Fluency in English
· Education: Bachelor degree in Business, finance, economics or retail preferred
