The Team

Fitting within the wider Global Brand Marketing team (GBM), PVH STUDIOS (PVHS) produces over 175,000 image assets each year primarily for the brands’ global e-commerce websites.  From its new state-of-the-art 23,500 sq. ft. facility in Amsterdam, PVHS strives to blend operational excellence with creative elevation to ensure best-in-class digital fashion consumer experiences, every day. With 9 fully equipped e-commerce bays running on the latest technology, 2 Editorial Studios with drive-in capacity, a still-life studio, equipment room, sample management area, cafe with full menu, kitchen, offices, meeting rooms and chill-out spaces - it is truly one-of-a-kind.

The Position

The Digital Technician is responsible for managing on-set operations for Tommy Hilfiger Global PDP shoots and special projects. This role is essential in ensuring seamless day-to-day production, focusing on optimizing on-set workflows and creating a direct link between raw captures and final deliverables in Post Production. The Digital Technician will be instrumental in upholding quality standards, enhancing efficiency, and facilitating clear communication to ensure alignment across teams both full time and freelance. 

Key Responsibilities

Included, but not limited to:

  • Be on set digital operator for daily PDP and Special Project Shoots.  

  • Own oversight of Capture One on-set; checking for proper ISA, Camera format, ICC profile and processing images according to our standards.

  • Serve as second eye to the Photographer by regularly checking for focus and ensure color consistency, color balance, exposure, and curves on all images.

  • Create, update and maintain in-studio guidelines for clear, consistent, coherent guidelines for freelance reference.

  • Manage and maintain on set workflow to smooth daily production requirements.

  • Work with Imaging Manager and Photographer to ensure upkeep of the studio equipment and technology. 

  • Stay current with digital equipment and systems.

  • Be in studio Subject Matter Expert and liase with Post Production team to ensure on set output and retouch guidelines are optimised and to brand standards. 

  • Perform adhoc retouching for where necessary, supporting special projects and guideline developments.

  • Train new Digital Capture Technicians through shadow days.

  • Regularly assess and suggest improvements to workflows to boost efficiency, speed, and consistency on set. 

  • Alongside Imaging Manager, oversee color management to ensure consistency across images and adherence to brand guidelines.

Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of Digital Capture & Retouching  both in high volume e-commerce studios and editorial

  • Ability to detect and communicate advanced lighting issues 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple complex projects and priorities across multiple teams of people with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Capture One Pro, Mac OSX, Adobe Photoshop

  • Knowledge of ICC profiles, monitor calibration, and color spaces to achieve accurate color representation across devices and outputs.
