POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director (or Senior Director) of Retail will be responsible for all aspects of running profitable store locations within Japan. Sets the commercial business plan for Tommy Hilfiger Brands for full-price retail business and leads all Tommy Hilfiger retail stores in defining the culture and operations of our stores to ensure success in all aspects of customer service, profitability, operations, associate development, merchandise presentation, and merchandise assortment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE JOB:
Responsible for setting up business plans for only Tommy Hilfiger full-price retail plans (revenue, inventory, staffing, SG&A, EBIT) for retail store portfolio, tracking performance, and taking actions to achieve objectives:
Review and analyze monthly budgets/forecasts, LTF, and industry status.
Monthly/ Annual sales closing and analyzing revenue data, discount rate, gross margin %, etc., working with Merchandise/Finance partners
Monitor sales plan achievement and progress, identify issues, and plan to maximize sales
Effective control of selling fixed cost, trade marketing expenses, travel & entertainment, etc.
Translate information and consumer insights to help identify attractive market opportunities and brand strategies.
Manage strategic retail portfolio plan (new store, renovations, relocations) to achieve maximum profitability and ensure cost-effective execution.
Support and execute all marketing/CRM strategies and campaigns to drive conversion and customer loyalty.
Ensure all stores project the brand image in all aspects of visual presentation and that store standards adhere to company direction
Partner with Planning on sales and margin plans by the merchandise department as well as align with Merchandising, Planning & Allocation, and VM on allocation and store set dates.
Collaborate with Finance & Planning on accurate sales and inventory reporting, monitoring over- and under-stocks, and implementing corrective action to be taken.
Ensure all stores comply with the store operations procedures and customer service standards.
Manage and support store manpower recruitment efforts to ensure proper staffing levels and suitable caliber of sales staff.
Oversee staff supervision and motivation to optimize the effectiveness and productivity of the sales force.
Partner with Human Resources on retail staff recruitment, training, compensation and benefits and other aspects of HR to ensure PVH is desirable employer and workplace.
Provide leadership and direction to Retail Operations management team so that KPIs are achieved, stores are run according to operational standards, and staff engagement is high.
Ensure performance management, associate development, and succession planning are built into quarterly and annual plans of all people managers.

Direct: Area manager, Senior manager Retail.

TEAM MANAGEMENT: Lead the operation standard of retail team through effective coaching, staff motivation, task allocation, and delegation.
DECISION-MAKING: Makes good decisions based on analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment; knowledgeable in current and future policies, practices, trends and information related to Finance and propose to VP Retail as final alignment especially in case of huge business impact.
ANALYTICAL THINKING: Strong analytical skills and ability to digest multiple variables while making timely decisions.
CREATIVE PROBLEM-SOLVING: Looks to broadest possible view of an issue or challenge; uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective tactics.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience: Minimum 10 years management experience in retail industry
Skills:
A passion and complete knowledge of Retail best practices and marketing methodologies.
Ability to rapidly expand Retail business through strategy, planning, and execution.
Ability to work cross-functionally across an entire organization and different divisions.
Building partnerships with internal stakeholders and external partners
Acute sense of the brand; high taste level.
Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to coach a team.
Strong leadership skills, with confident presentation skills.
Proven ability to multitask.
Ability to travel.
