About the Role

As the Senior Retail POS Engineer, you will act as the focal point of contact for the Retail POS Support team and provide operational and technical support for the Retail POS Group specific IT systems. You will provide support to the Retail POS Team Leader. The role also includes business as usual support activities and change request/project activities.

Based at our Head Office in the heart of the CBD, located at 388 George Street 2000, this is a full-time, 14-month fixed term contract, working from home and in the office weekly. 

Duties & Responsibilities

• Drive operational excellence for the POS systems and make sure systems run smoothly and are scalable for future growth.
• Design solutions and drive implementations with our vendors to fulfil business and technical requirements.
• Propose actions, design functions or processes, and identify skill or training needed when addressing any issues.
• Serve as the escalation point for all retail store support issues, and liaise between Global Service Desk, Field Support; following up with internal and external suppliers as required.
• Maintain an updated inventory and configuration system encompassing all Retail Store POS related hardware and software. Conduct regular audits.
• Monitor and report system performance, outages relating to the Retail Store network.
• Create, maintain and modify POS reports to share with relevant stakeholders.
• Stage, test and install new retail POS systems and Hardware.
• Develop and keep up-to-date documentation of technical processes and problem determination guides.
• Liaise with external vendors, internal key business users to achieve ongoing PCIDSS compliance.
• Creates or assists team members in writing user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
• Participate in a 24x7x365 on call support roster.

About You

• Minimum 5 years’ experience with POS Systems with Magenta Retail Systems, RFID, PC - Eftpos Payment Systems software and hardware highly desirable.
• Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Experience in working with vendors on software solutions and aligning on roadmaps
• Strong process knowledge regarding “Sales in Stores” (incl. gift cards, employee sales, etc.).
• Proven ability to think strategically, analyse complex situations and achieve outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to liaise with vendors and technical staff.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in working in an agile environment; working autonomously as well as part of a team.
