Assistant Buyer, Accessories - Tommy HilfigerPOSITION SUMMARY:
The major function is to provide support to the Accessories team regarding all third party licensed product including PO entry, PO revisions and communication with vendors, as well as providing information and data analysis necessary to help the team make informed decisions on the business. The position is an integral part of the department and will coordinate across internal departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·Support the Accessories Merchant team in achieving and/or exceeding departmental financial plans
· Help to prepare all necessary documents and resources for major Milestone Meetings, including Hindsight, Buy Review, etc.
· Article Creation, Onboarding & PO Entry and Maintenance in SAP for all 3rd party product as well as communication with our vendors
· Data entry and assembly of reports and files for daily merchandising responsibilities, including: accurately building and maintaining or dispersing, on order recap, weekly/monthly/seasonal selling recaps, editing and maintaining assortment sheets; reconciling and updating receipts; communicating necessary information to cross-functional team in a timely manner
· Responsible for all aspects of MSRP updates in SAP vis the QC DC file as well as responding to DC reticketing emails
· On order tracking on a weekly basis and owning timely follow up with vendor/ internal teams for late or past due PO’s to receive updated anticipated dates
· Attend third party market appointments w/ buyer
· Sample management: maintaining sample accuracy and handoff and organization of sample closet
· Attend cross functional meetings to develop a better understanding of the business
· Demonstrate and communicate awareness of retail landscape; Conduct research on competitive set including pricing, style, and key messaging information
· Build relationships with cross-functional partners and participate as a solution-oriented team member, contributing to a high performing team
· Own imagery and copy pass off to the site merch team for ecom style launches for all third party product
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 1+ years of related experience in Merchandising/Buying/Retail ideal
· College degree; Merchandising degree, a plus
· Strong to proficient computer skills (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); ability to learn systems, SAP, MDM, Lighthouse and Visulon
· Ability to learn quickly and work in a highly collaborative environment
· Be a positive, flexible, team player- Work independently as needed and have strong self-initiative, prioritization, multi task and time management skills
· Detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Bachelor’s degree; fashion-related major or strong interest in retail preferred
· Ability to lift or move at least 30 lbs for sample management and participate in possible store visits/ floor sets
· Work is reviewed on completion for adherence to objectives, deadlines and technical soundness
· Manager is available for general guidance
· Work independently and guided on special projects
· Must be able to handle multiple projects with adherence to deadlines
· Must be highly organized
· Must be able to work independently as well as on group projects
· Must be self-motivated and confident with decision making
· Must be able to communicate well with peers and upper management
· Requires maintenance of sample areas. This includes lifting boxes
· Establish collaborative relationships with planning/distribution and marketing to understand the complete product life cycle and ensure timely delivery and availability of product
