The Team

You’ll be working in the Womenswear Tommy Hilfiger Division for Denim mainline and North America. You will work closely with the Denim design manager and the rest of the denim team including PD, fit technician, and merchandiser. You’ll be lead by the Denim Design Manager. Next to this you’ll be working close with all designers and VP and head of design within the Womenswear team to align the denim collection to the Hilfiger inspiration and details. You will be part of an enthusiastic team and will learn to work from A to Z on a collection. 

The Position

  • Researching trends that works into the Tommy Hilfiger Womenswear brand strategy
  • Look into trends for the Womenswear denim and create inspirational moodboards for mainline and North America collections
  • Participate in Selecting fabrics during Mill presentations.
  • Keep our fabric and garments library up to date and relevant.
  • Make fabric selections to launch and follow up on relevant and premium washes for North America line. Responsible of  wash developments and wash comments until SMS.
  • Working on circular design.
  • Working on new fits and details with the technical fit team across denim pants, shorts, dresses, skirts, shirts & jackets.  And follow up throughout the season on fitting the garments all the way to SMS.
  • Understand the feminine handwriting of our design and the segmentation and consumer difference between mainline and the North America Line.
  • Working under pressure within the Divisional Calendar to meet deadlines
  • Illustrate and Photoshop design sheets and wash overviews for divisional presentations
  • Preparing styles to be computerized and design sheets to be completed to a high standard for sending to buying offices globally.
  • Being responsible of the collection overviews and denim matrix at every stage of the season.
  • Create brand identity through seasonal trims and branding development.
  • Working on BOM’s with the product developers
  • Responsible to present the North America denim line during reviews and sales meetings.
  • Travel for efficient and relevant shopping trips and to factories for handover and inspiration

The Ideal Candidate

  • Graduated from an BA or MA fashion program
  • 3/5 years of experience as a Denim Junior designer / designer
  • Love for denim, knowledge of denim fabrics, its colors, its texture, and its washes applied on it.
  • Good eyes for the feminine fits, silhouettes and detailing.
  • Organized, enthusiastic, easy to adapt and flexible with changes
  • Articulate and good at presenting
  • Illustrator/Photoshop/In Design must be mastered & hand illustration skills too
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal as English is the working language of the company
  • Is able to work in a fast paced environment and has a hands on mentality.
  • Work independently as well as in a team and that you also enjoy working in a busy environment.
