The Position

The Senior Designer for Girls Wovens is part of the Tommy Hilfiger Kids team, with a key focus and strong understanding of kids woven products and works under the guidance of and supports the Design Director to create cohesive products that embody the Tommy Hilfiger brand.

The Girls woven categories key focus; Outerwear, Pants and Skirts, as well as Dresses and Denim.

The Senior Designer will partner with other members of the Design Team, as well as product development, fit technicians and merchandising teams to create a cohesive collection that is aligned across product groups with clear storytelling, reflecting seasonal concept ideas. 

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of construction, a high level of fabric knowledge, a good understanding of trends, silhouettes and fabrications, and how these can be translated into commercial products in line with the Tommy Hilfiger brand identity. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identifying trends and presenting creative research that works within the Tommy Hilfiger brand strategy for the Girls/kids Woven category and translating these into commercial products in line with the seasonal concept direction.

  • Design within the Woven product categories with confidence and a strong understanding of the Tommy Hilfiger DNA.

  • High level fabric and trims knowledge plus a strong technical understanding of fits and construction.

  • Focus on commercial products whilst also adding newness, modernity and innovation.

  • Working to the Divisional Calendar to meet deadlines.

  • Be able to work to a commercial Range Plan each season, collaborating with the Merchandising team on best seller management, Essential product and seasonal newness.

  • Preparing all sketches for divisional digital presentations and to focus on the follow up of each style.

  • Use Illustrator and Photoshop to create CAD sketches to clearly and confidently communicate design ideas and colour ups.

  • Conducting preparations for seasonal presentations to senior management.

  • Attend and participate in key milestones such as sketch and proto reviews.

  • Prepare all sketches for divisional presentations and prepare all confirmed styles to be digitalized, with garment worksheets and PLM completed to a high standard.

  • Work closely with the Design Team to align design aesthetics, seasonal details and seasonal concepts.

  • Partner with the Product Developer to ensure a smooth workflow each season.

  • Work closely with Tech and Product Development teams on garment fittings, based on block systems and new seasonal styles. Ensure all styles are to the highest possible standard and help find solutions to any problems that may come up during the fitting process.

  • Building overviews and collection reviews in collaboration with coss-functional team.

  • Work well in a team environment, utilizing strong communication skills.
